Chapter 16 The Release Agreement
- The morning sun had just begun to peek through the cracks in Tony's cluttered office windows, casting light on piles of documents and a cold cup of coffee on his desk. His phone rang once more, the loud, insistent ringtone breaking the silence of the room.
- The screen displayed the name "Mia" along with several missed calls. Without thinking twice, Tony declined the call, not bothering to answer. He rubbed his weary face with a heavy hand, the pressure marks from his glasses leaving an imprint on the bridge of his high nose.
- Feeling exhausted, he tried to stretch his stiff muscles. Tony stood up, straightened his aching back, and rotated his neck to ease the remaining tension from a restless sleep on a desk piled with unfinished work. He really needed to cut down on his habit of falling asleep at his desk and start sleeping in a proper bed like a normal human being.
