Light hits my eyes and I open them hesitantly. Feeling the soft cushion of a mattress beneath me, I instantly remember the events of last night and shoot up in bed only to wince from the soreness of my face and body. It all comes back to me as I let out a surprised scream. The sound of someone coming up the stairs sets me on edge and I grip the blanket tightly. The door opens and Felix’s concerned face immediately puts me at ease.
“Are you okay, little one?” His voice is soft, yet still firm and a wave of relief instantly washes over me.
