• The rest of the team arrives in record time and I make a mental note to thank Ivers when this is all over. The men and women all arrive quickly as we descend upon the Jackson home. It’s bustling with lights and loud music and I tighten my grip on my gun. Not only did Kelsie lie, but she lied to sneak out to go to a party. She really is a child in more ways than one.
• I signal for half of the team to flank the house from the back while the rest of us head to the front. We part silently, making sure not to disturb the house and the teenagers who are partying there. I quietly creep up the large stairs and hold up my hand to steady the team of six behind me. I open my palm and we kick the door open. The party erupts in screams as we funnel into the house. I scan every inch of the house, looking for Kelsie even though the rational side of me knows she won’t just be innocently sitting on the couch. Her phone went off the grid which means it’s in some kind of faraday cage.
