Chapter 7

• It has been 3 weeks now since the day Lincoln became Sarah's new
• boss and lots of things have changed in the library. There are workmen busy
• doing the finishing touches upstairs in the loft to create a huge cozy office
• space with a place to stay over if needed.
• So it now has a small shower with toilet, a small kitchen and a sofa
• that can be turned into a bed at night.
• Lincoln came up with that idea after the first week.
• When he was done with the sketches Sarah was amazed at his talent! It
• looked like a cozy apartment she told him and he admitted that he
• eventually made it into that including an office. He surprised her by telling
• her that the apartment would be hers I'd she wanted it so she would not have
• to travel anymore and so she could start saving since she lost her care
• taking a job. At first she was shocked to the core and didn't believe he offered
• her the loft but after smooth talking from his side and some serious thinking
• she accepted it but she told him that during the day it was his office when
• he's around an he agreed on that so they were both happy with the new
• arrangement and her rental house was empty a week later.
• Now she was enjoying her new place to the fullest while downstairs
• some workmen were busy with finishing up the computer room for the kids
• and the cozy living room for some silent reading with a huge fireplace as an attraction!
• "Hello Lincoln, what can I do for you sir?" She answers her phone
• after seeing Lincoln's ID flashing.
• On the other side he chuckles....this woman!
• "How many times do I need to tell you no formal names??....aniways
• Can you come down please, to see?" He says.
• "Ha ok Lincoln, coming!" She answers and cuts the call while walking
• out of her apartment to go down.
• In the meantime....
• "I wish she would say that laying under me!" Lincoln gulps....surprised
• by his own dirty thoughts of Sarah...
• "Oh there you are! Now come see and tell me what you think!" He
• says when he sees Sarah walking towards him.
• "Oh wow! They are fast! I think the kids will be very happy!" She says
• and he nods in agreement.
• "Yeah, I think so too! Hey i was also thinking if we could maybe
• upgrade the website as well because it looks a bit boring don't you think? I
• want it to reflect the new library with all its futures and maybe people can
• buy their internet computer time slots as well so they don't have to do that
• Here, what do you think of Sarah?"
• Sarah looks at him and places her hand on his forehead without
• blinking....
• "Temperature still good! I wonder....well anyways whatever idea you have,
• write it down and send it to me and then we can decide together, yes?"
• She says while looking at her phone.
• "Okay....but why were you checking my head?" He chuckles.
• "Well i don't know but this is all overwhelming and it looks like there
• are more new things or ideas coming so i wondered what happens in your
• mind because it has been pouring ideas....that's all, but i apologise for touching
• you!....that was inappropriate...sorry!" She mumbles the last part shyly.
• "Hey....don't kill yourself over it! I'm still alive! I just....i just feel like
• doing something else, something that makes me happy and this makes
• me.happy Sarah, here together.....with you"....he says while he pushes a
• strand of hair behind her ear while brushing his knuckles against her
• cheek....
• Suddenly the air becomes thick with unknown new feelings.....they
• both gaze in each other's eyes for seconds and he leans in but when their
• lips almost touch, their moment they get interrupted by a worker with a
• question....
• They step away from each other while Sarah stares at her shoes not
• knowing where else to look with her heated cheeks and Lincoln scrapes his
• throat and pushes his hands deep in his pockets....
• "Excuse me sir but where do you want that table?" The guy asks
• Lincoln.
• "At the window at the entrance please, thank you" he replies with a
• tight voice feeling annoyed that that guy spoiled his moment with Sarah!
• The moment the guys are gone Sarah turns around on her heels and
• dives into the lady's room to calm her raising heart!
• "What on earth Sarah!! U almost kissed your boss!....or technically he
• leant in first though but still i didn't move an inch!.....what is wrong with
• you girl! And besides being your boss he is also way older than you!!....get
• a grip" she whispered to herself and then splashes some water in her face
• and walks out again.
• Until her relief Lincoln is not on the ground floor anymore so she takes
• her time to look around and understands why he is so enthusiastic about all
• the new stuff! It really makes sense now and looks so much better to be
• honest.
• One hour later the workers are done and clean up the mess they've
• made and then left after saying goodbye.
• "Thanks so much guys, good job!!"
• "You're welcome, Miss Sarah!" The boss of the workman says and
• closes the door behind him.
• Tomorrow the library will have his grand opening so tonight she can
• chill a bit after all the hard work.
• She goes up to the loft and takes a shower and then makes an easy
• salad for dinner.
• When she walks to her sofa she suddenly sees the flowers on her table
• with a note...
• "A housewarming gift, I hope you like it! And sorry I'd made you
• uncomfortable! See you tomorrow. L."
• A smile creeps on her face and with that she goes to sleep.
