Chapter 5

• Sarah is getting ready for work at the library but things are not going as planned!
• "Damn car!" she mutters after trying to start her little old car.
• This morning she made sure to get out of bed on time and get ready but now the old car wouldn't let her leave on time!
• "Argh, why now car, why now?? You're gonna make me late just on the day my boss wants to talk to me!"
• She tries and tries again and gives up with her hands frustrated hitting the steering wheel.
• "Hi, Miss Flanaghan? Yes I'm coming but I have to take the bus because my car won't start, so sorry! I know I've said I will be there a bit
• earlier but I'm not sure if I am going to make that extra time now!" She explains on the phone to her boss.
• "Oh don't you worry my dear! Just come and we will talk!" Mrs. Flanghan replied and cuts the call.
• While putting her phone back she locks her car and walks towards the bus stop which luckily is only a couple of meters away from her house.
• When she just arrives at the stop the bus comes and she gets in with a sigh of relief that she made it.
• To the center where the library is, it's 20 minutes with the bus and when she checks her watch she sees she still has 10 minutes extra before
• her normal shift starts making her smile.
• The next stop she goes out of the bus and walks to the cafe next to the library and orders a coffee for her boss and herself.
• When she's done she walks out and enters the library and walks towards her boss's office and knocks.
• "Come in!" She hears her boss say and opens the door.
• ¨Oh sorry didn't know you have a guest! I'll....I'll wait!" She stutters upon seeing a handsome older gentleman sitting in miss Flanaghan's office
• and closes the door again with a slightly raised heartbeat.
• "Sarah come back in please!" Her boss says opening the door again for her to get in.
• "Please take a seat and let me introduce you to your new boss, Mr. Lincoln Maxwell, Lincoln, this is my employee, Miss Sarah Baxter!" She
• introduces them both.
• Upon hearing the words 'new boss' Sarah looked surprised at Miss Flanaghan to Mr Maxwell who in turn looked very keenly at Sarah....
• "Hello Sarah, nice to meet you! You may call me Lincoln! May I call you Sarah?" He husked making her blush.
• "Ehm yes....yes please, nice to meet you too sir!" She whispered looking at him from underneath her eyelashes.
• "Okay well that are the introductions, listen Sarah, I'm sorry that this just falls out of the sky for you but let me explain ok!, I got a phone call a
• couple of days ago from my sister that my father gotten ill and my mom needs help to take care of her and since my sister can't do too much herself
• since she has a husband and children, she has asked me to come help for some months so I've been thinking and decided that maybe it's time for my retirement so as from today onward, Lincoln here, will be your new boss and tomorrow i will move to my parents place to take care of them on the other side of the state, so that is it dear Sarah! It has been a pleasure working with you and I hope you two will make this library a success when I'm away! But I know I leave you in good hands! But he will tell you himself so I leave you guys to it! You know my number if you wanna chat Sarah! Take care and goodbye for now!" She says and walks out of the office leaving Sarah behind, still in shock and Lincoln who just keeps looking at Sarah with a strange look on his face.....

• not the type so, anyways....like i said you can call me Lincoln and i am your new boss....but not in the way miss Flanaghan was your boss because I'm a busy man because i also have my own company where i work full time, this is just helping a for helping out a friend in need kinda thing and i just love this old library since i was a kid, i used to come hear with my dad reading lots of books so when she told me that she had to leave and that she didn't exactly know what to do with you and the library, i offered to buy the library so in that sence i am you're boss, because i will pay your salary but you will run the place and i already placed an advertisement for someone to help you, so once a while i will drop by to check up on things and if you need me do anything you may call or email me, here's my card with my personal details, so any questions so far Sarah?" He asked her curiously.
• "Ehm no sir, sorry Lincoln...i think it's clear now and thank you for helping me keeping my job! You know I actually thought for a second that she was going to fire me or something and that would have been disastrous since I also lost my second job yesterday for almost the same reasons so thanks so much for taking over the library with me in it!" She says, smiling a bit shy.
• "Oh sorry to hear that! But no worries, according to your old boss you did very well so I would like to keep you!" He says smiling back at her
• making her heart flutter while staring into his sparkling blue eyes....
• "So since I don't have too much experience of owning a library, can you show me the ropes please, like Show me how things are done and
• where can I find stuff I need?" He then asks.
• "Sure I'd like to show you around and then later I can show you her books and agenda that she used before okay?"
• "Yes, that sounds good, lead the way!" He then follows her out of the office on the second first floor.
