Chapter 1

• Prologue.
• "Lincoln Maxwell"
• His name alone makes women throw themselves at his feet and the man envy him and is jealous of what he has and what he is!
• He's the filthy rich & single CEO of Maxwell industries, a big international company who makes and sells lots of different products worldwide.
• He's charming and sexy. Women who are lucky to share his bed say that he's a beast in the bedroom! Men who he worked with, say he's a bit cold, sometimes distant and arrogant but his own employees he treats fairly, some of them even almost as friends.
• He knows what he wants and takes eccept for true love....
• Deep down he is a lonely man who wants nothing more than to find a woman who doesn't cheat, who isn't after his money, who just loves him for him because he already has to deal with a troublesome family who takes advantage of his goodness, especially his mother who's behaving like a real b**ch sometimes, who knows who, how and when, to manipulate and his annoying brother and sister who he doesn't like too much.... And then his younger siblings, who are fighting over who will get the company, including the company's shares, after he's retired! so the only nice person beside himself is his father, who truly loves his eldest son and respects him as a grown man.
• So what will happen when he meets in the library, the shy and not so rich Sarah Baxter?
• Will they act on their attraction towards each other and will love start to bloom or will his crazy money obsessed family try to kill the bloom of love even before it starts to grow?

• 1# I am the CEO not you!!
• The alarm clock is blaring through his room, slowly he opens an eye and groans frustrated. "Uughh, I hate early mornings!" He mutters why slowly getring up and stretches his toned body. Before he even sets a foot in his luxurious bathroom his phone starts to ring.
• "Lincoln Maxwell, speaking!" He says after picking the call.
• "Link where are you? You're supposed to be here 20 minutes ago!" His sister Betina yells in his ear making him raise his eyebrows.
• "Good morning to you too sister! i was just about to get into the shower so I'll be there in 45 minutes ok!" He replied her.
• "No, that's not okay Link! We have been waiting!" betina spat back annoyed.
• "So? I am the CEO, not you! And what's the problem anyways, what's the rush Betina?" He asked her, getting more and more annoyed with her. "The presentation duh! Did you forget??....ugh you know what, if you can not run this company, we will!!" And then she hangs up the call leaving Lincoln, staring at his phone in shock.
• After some seconds he puts his phone away and goes into the bathroom and puts the rain shower on and lets the hot water soak him.
• "Betina, Betina! You really have to learn sister!" He mumbles to himself while he's drying up.
• After he is done, he goes to his walk-in closet and choses a business suit, his favorite dark blue one which matches with his sexy blue eyes and grabs a crisp white shirt and black shoes to go with it.
• When he is propperly dressed, he takes one last look in the mirror, and smiles.
• He still looks good for his age he thinks by himslef while running his hand trough his gray-ish blond hair.
• After putting his favorite watch on his wrists, he walks out of his room and down de stairs.
• In his big family kitchen, he grabs his already made lunch and then his keys and walks out to his car.
• On his way to the office he calls his assistant to inform her that he's on his way.
• "Morning Sandra, how are you doing? I'm on my way, let's say 10 minutes away from the building!"
• "Oh, good morning sir, I'm okay, only my mother has been taken to the hospital last night so I'm a bit tired!" Sandra replied a bit tired.
• "Oh sorry to hear that, hope it's nothing serious?" asks worriedly.
• "They think it's a stroke but they aren't sure yet since they are still busy doing tests on her"
• "Okay well if you need time to see her, just let me know okay!" He tells her.
• "Thank you sir! and by the way, your brother has already started the meeting with mister the White, so sorry i couldn't hold him, you know how he is sir and you're sister, well i don't want to say something bad about them, because they are your family but...." Sandra hasitated to finish her oppoinion about his siblings.
• "You don't have to tell me Sandra, I know! my sister already called me before I even got myself into the shower! so no worries I'll handle them, see you in a bit!" He says and cuts the call and steps on the gas.
• Some time later he arrives and parks at his private spot in the garage under the building and takes his private elevator straight up to his floor.
• He gets out and walks straight towards the board room where he finds Sandra standing in front of the door.
• "They are still busy?" He asks her and she nods.
• "Okay, let's go! Just relax and sit beside me and take notes, let's show them who's boss!" He says and then opens the door and walks inside.
• "Mr the White, I'm so sorry that I am late, I was kind of delayed! Did my little brother and sister keep you entertained?" He asks the man on the big screen who smirks.
• "Link, you devious man! Did you have a busy night with a curtain brunette?" Mr. The White asks with a grin on his face.
• "Ha no, not this time! i just slept in because i thought i still had enough time since someone changed the time of this meeting without informing me!" He says while looking at his brother and sister with a raised eyebrow.
• "Ow I thought you did?" Mr. The White asks Lincoln, who shakes his head in a negative way.
• "Hmm okay well you're here now so let's start!"
• "Of Course sir, let's begin with discussing your offer from last time!" Lincoln says while sitting down at the head of the table next to Sandra who starts to take notes.
• Some hours later....
• "Sir, can I take the rest of the afternoon off?" Sandra asks after entering Lincoln's office.
• "Sure Sandra that is ok, i am also planning to leave earlier, since my mom planed a family dinner again"
• "Ah okay sir, well thanks and enjoy your evening and see you tomorrow!" Sandra says while pacling up her belongings.
• "Yes you too, see tomorrow!" he says after which Sandra walks out of his office and closes the door behind her, just as Theo and Betina walk towards his office.
• "Hi Sandra!" They both say mockingly, making Sandra to roll her eyes at the both of them, before she steps inside the elevator and presses the button for the underground garage.
• "Link, are you coming? Mom is waiting for us!" Theo says impantiently, standing in the doorway with Betina behind him.
• "You guys can go, don't wait for me, I'm going to finish this email and then I'll drive off!" He answers him without looking up.
• They both turn around, Theo muttering something and then they walk away.
• Lincoln finishes the email and then gets up and walks out of his office and locks it with his keycard.
• On the way down in the elevator he sends a text to his mother that he's on his way.
• "Okay mom, I hope you behave tonight because I'm too tired for your craziness!" He mumbles while driving out of the garage, towards his parents mansion.
