Chapter 47
- EMMA'S POV
- The night was shrouded in a comforting silence as we helped Noah, my father, step down from the pickup truck. The rustling of leaves in the wind and the starry sky gave the feeling that calm had finally returned to our farmhouse. Smiles spread across tired faces, and as my father set foot on the familiar ground, he murmured a “home sweet home.”
- Jacelyn, my mother, closed the truck door with a relieved sigh. “Finally, calmness is back home,” she remarked, looking around as if to confirm that everyone was truly there, safe.
