Chapter 32 —Why Do You Ask?

• Dallas was annoyed by his wife’s behavior, forgetting that he had also been annoying to Elara that morning. He didn’t appreciate his wife’s efforts and just left. It was only fair if she ignored him on purpose.
• “Sorry, honey, I’m busy,” Elara said to no one in particular as she put her phone into her bag, hoping the ringtone wouldn’t disturb her while she worked. “Let him feel what it’s like to be ignored,” she added. Elara no longer cried; she acted like a strong woman executing her revenge. She waited for his next move.
• An hour, two hours passed. No response from her husband. Elara decided to go home since it was already late afternoon. If she stayed longer, she would get stuck in traffic. Elara took the elevator to the lobby with her secretary. Just the two of them, before parting ways, the girl encouraged Elara, who looked gloomy. Feeling comforted, Elara’s burden seemed a bit lighter.
