Chapter 24 Devillish Axel
- ASHLEY
- I really tried my best to avoid any one-on-one confrontation with the triplets. Their pretense was a horrible thing to watch—almost like seeing wolves trying to pretend they were harmless puppies. So far, they had not touched me, and as long as they kept their distance, I could act as though they did not exist. It was annoying that they could be so nice and friendly in front of everyone else, yet the moment eyes weren’t on them, they revealed just how wicked and cruel they were. But what exactly was I expecting? Their true nature was devilish. Being nice was definitely draining for them. The kindness they showed was something they had to force themselves to do, and even then, the mask slipped at the smallest opportunity.
- That truth proved itself again on Saturday afternoon when Alpha Hendrix and my mum were busy. They were in the throne room for a very serious meeting with the elders. I knew it was important because I could hear their raised voices echoing through the halls—arguments, disagreements, tension so thick that even from my room, I could feel it. The meeting dragged on for hours. At some point, I honestly thought they would never step out.
