Chapter 4

• The man who was standing not too far from them was now frowning, trying to figure out what Lelo was doing and the reason why she was targeting Samantha. He had his hands balled into fists, but still refused to go and help the woman out, they did not know each other so she had to get herself out of that situation without Adrian interfering, which was why he chose to continue observing the situation from afar.
• Lelo turned to look viciously at the person who had just spoken and was about to say something when she saw Samantha patting her friend on her shoulders before shaking her head to prevent her from defending her any further, she did not want to drag her friends in her mess and felt that she was capable enough to fight her own battles. Lelo on the other side took this as Samantha being afraid of offending her, so she smiled victoriously.
• ' Well at least someone knows their place'
• She thought to herself, that maybe with just a little push, she would be able to get rid of this peasant that way she wouldn't be able to seduce Adrian! From the moment he had arrived at the party, Lelo noticed that Adrian had been looking at these three girls and it was quite obvious that Samantha was the one he had his eyes on.
• " Miss Carter, we don't know each other and as far as I know, I have never offended you in any way, so tell me, what is the meaning of this?"
• Her voice was low and she spoke slowly with a calm expression on her face, showing no signs of fear or panic. Although her voice was soft, to Lelo her words were as heavy as a rock.
• " What do yo mean you haven't affended me?"
• She felt that the woman was making a fool out of her, how could she even ask such a question knowing very well that she was taking the man of her dreams, the man she had loved since she was young. She turned to look where Adrian had been sitting and when she saw that his seat was still unoccupied, she continued shouting angrily at Samantha.
• " You know very well that you've been seducing Adrian, how could you even say that you haven't offended me?"
• Her words confused Samantha even more, she's never dated in her life before and the idea of dating anyone had never cross her mind so how could she seduce someone's man. She tried thinking if she knew anyone by that name but even after racking her brains, she still could not think of anyone named Adrian. noticing how quiet the woman was, Lelo became angrier as she thought Samantha was really after Adrian.
• " God, you can't even defend yourself, well let me tell you will never be his woman! a peasant like you will never enter the gates of the Khoza family!"
• Adrian who was listening to their conversation felt like killing the damn woman on the spot, how dare she claim him like that? what infuriated him the most was the fact that Lelo was threatening the woman he was interested in with false claims. He tried his best to restrain himself as he also want to hear how the little woman would respond. A lot of women had been fighting for his attention since growing up, some would do some outrageous things just to be his woman but none of them had ever succeeded. He wanted to see if Samantha was as obsessed just like the others or was she different, but what she said next rendered the man speechless.
• " You are too loud, anyway who is this Adrian that you are talking about, what is so special about him that you would go out of your way to bark at me like this?"
• Lelo felt that her words were very disrespectful towards the man of her dreams, Adrian came from the richest family in Doreinburg and was the next in line as the family successor and was by far the most handsome man in the city. How could a peasant like Samantha say such word about Adrian, to this her face became red with anger and she immediately threw a hard slap across Samantha's face. The woman's face who hadn't expected to be hit, immediately turned cold and looked dead at the other woman.
• " Let this be the last time you do that!"
• Her words caused a shiver down Lelo's spine but her pride did not allow her to be threatened by a nobody.
• " Or what? do you have the courage to fight me? heh, don't you know that one word from me can make your poor parents lose their job!"
• Right after she said this, she again raised her hand aiming to strike her face again she wanted to see if the girl had the gut to defend herself even after she had said she would get her parents fired, what she did not expect though was that both of Samantha's friends stepped forward and blocked the slap from reaching her.
• " How about you bully people on your level and stop picking on the weak!"
• " oh and who are you? a peasant defending another peasant?"
• Although Zinhle never talks too much about about her background, she too came from a well off family but because she liked to rely on herself most people thought she came from an ordinary family and although they could afford to get her in to this college but was probably not that rich.
• " Think of it however you want, but I will not allow you to treat my friend like this! "
• She then threw a slap at Lelo before saying
• " Now try coming for my family and see what happens!"
• She then took her friends hands and lead them away from the scene leaving a still shocked Lelo rooted on the spot. Wth their night ruined, they decided to just leave the party and made their way to a kebab place and got their dinner and did not forget to grab a bottle of wine on their way back home.
• " I just can't believe that woman would accuse our Sam of seducing other people's men, don't worry friend, with your beauty you don't need that man whoever his name is. If only she know how many guys you reject each day she wouldn't even farce over that ugly ass man of hers."
• Oyi said this with a pout clearly upset that her friend had been mistreated.
• " Jeah."
• Was all that Samantha said, she had a bad feeling. Her college life had been peaceful all this while, but now Lelo suddenly decided to pick on her over a man she did not know, she wondered what else will this woman come up with? She felt that she now will have to be extra careful as she did not know what tricks the girl was capable of pulling.
• The air around the room was so depressing, and Zinhle felt that they were wasting time on people who did not matter to them.
• " Girls, it is not all the time that we get a chance to have a sleepover with Sammy, let's not waste it on irrelevant people come on."
