Chapter 165

  • I found myself staring down at the bowl of noodles, contemplating his question. Was I really awake just because I was hungry or was there something else that was keeping me up? It was a strange feeling, realizing that there might be more to my restlessness than just a grumbling stomach. Maybe I was worried about something, or maybe my mind was just racing with thoughts that I couldn’t quiet.
  • Either way, I don’t have an answer to Vector’s question, so I just shrug. “I don’t know. Maybe I’m just a night owl.” It’s a flimsy excuse, but it’s the best I could come up with on the spot.
  • Vector raises an eyebrow, looking skeptical, but thankfully, he doesn’t push the matter further. Instead, he walks further into the kitchen, his eyes trained on me the entire time. He makes his way to the kitchen counter, pulls out a chair, drops his bag on the other unoccupied chair, and takes a seat.
