Chapter 103
- Michael smirks before he chuckles. Lorenzo holds his head high while tracing a finger—lazily—along the curve of Aurora’s shoulder. She shudders at the touch, eyes begging me to do something.
- “I suppose it’s time to give credit where it’s due,” Michael clicks his tongue. “Every family has secrets as we all know it. A chink in their armour. A skeleton in their closet. Can you imagine the power it gives you over those fools? It’s unimaginable. You should try,” he laughs maniacally. “It’s like a drug, I promise. It’s hard to get enough of it.”
- “But anyway, back to the subject—where was I?—yes, the credit.” He takes a deep breath and turns around. “As I was saying—let’s give Angela Moretti an enormous round of applause for her outstanding efforts and that sharp, crafty mind of her I sure as hell envy right now.”
