Chapter 7 What The Fuck

  • Joseph’s p.o.v.
  • I take six Warriors with me to circle around and try to come up behind the three Wolves that approach our convoy, but Griffin forces me to head deeper in to the forest.
  • The Warriors don’t ask questions, they just follow me and I let Griffin guide me to wherever he needs me to go. I didn’t expect to find three males with three unconscious females and I link Inti to slow down the eight Wolves they are facing at the moment.
  • “The moment they are dead, we can mark them as ours.” I hear one of the males say and the other two seem very pleased with that prospect. Griffin growls in my head at the meaning of their words and I don’t have to give any of the Warriors an order.
  • Each of us can shift within the blink of an eye and their eyes show the shock they are in, when faced with seven pissed off Wolves. We don’t give them the time to shift, four of the Warriors move towards the females, while the rest of us deals with these Nincompoops.
  • Three of the Warriors shift back to place the females on the backs of the others and then we slowly make our way back to our convoy. From the snapped branches in front of us, it is clear that each of those Wolves came through here and I even see some blood on the leaves.
  • “Can you tell me why the Alpha was chasing you?” Inti asks, before we have left the forest and I order everyone to stop. I want to hear their explanation, even though it is clear from what we saw.
  • “They wanted to kill us, they wanted our Mates to be too weak to stop them from forcefully marking them. We have to go back into the forest to find them, he left other Wolves with them. I fear for my Mate’s safety.” Somone answers.
  • “Don’t worry, that is already taken care off.” Inti responds and that is my cue to allow the others to walk out of the forest. The three males come towards us, relief visible on their faces and they take their Mates from the backs of our Warriors.
  • Doc comes running towards us with two nurses hot on his tail, he takes a quick look at each female and shouts towards Inti that they have no injuries. The males are too weak to carry their Mates and three Warriors help them to get them to the vehicles.
  • We rearrange some of the Pups and place each couple in a vehicle, giving the males some time to rest and heal. We set off at a slow pace, I want to give the Warriors that fought a chance to catch their breath and it startled some of our females.
  • After about three hours a blood hurdling scream is heard from one of the vehicles and as one our Youngsters pull over, allowing their Alpha to investigate.
  • One of the females had woken up, not realizing that she was safe and it takes her Mate a few minutes to calm her down.
  • “You are safe now, we will take you with us to White Mountain Pack. In the morning we will explain how our convoy works and how we plan to travel.” Inti says and a few minutes later we have six more Pack-members, each of them swearing loyalty to Little Crescent Pack.
  • We still have another hour, before we reach our next stop and you can hear the soft murmurs coming from the vehicles. The Pups are slowly waking up and getting more talkative the longer they are awake.
  • “Gamma Joseph, movement to the right of the convoy.” I hear one of our Warriors say over the mind-link, but it is clear that he linked just me and no one else.
  • Griffin walks over to his side and starts scanning the tree line, but neither one of us can see any movement. It isn’t until we let our eyes move back to the convoy that we spot the movement, the high grass is moving in an unusual way.
  • “What the fuck? That can’t be a teenage or grown Wolf.” Griffin points out and I try to see if there might be anyone else hiding in the high grass, but we don’t see any other movement.
  • I look around to see if anyone else has noticed the movement in the grass, but it is too subtle for them to notice and the Pups are too busy with each other inside the vehicles. I just hope that whatever is in that high grass doesn’t pose a threat to our Pack.
  • “I need you to circle around to come up on the other side of whatever that is, I will approach it from this side.” I tell the Warrior and he doesn’t ask anything, he just does as I tell him.
  • Griffin slowly walks to the moving grass, we have no idea what might be hiding in there and I don’t want anything to happen to me or any of our Pack-members. The grass only moves once in a while and I know we can’t blame it on the wind, because there is no wind.
  • “Joseph, what the hell are you doing?” I hear Inti ask in my head and I quickly inform him of the anomaly we found.
  • Inti closes the link, after he has warned me to be careful. Yeah, as if I hadn’t figured that one out on my own.
  • From the corner of my eye I see the Warrior get into position and we slowly move closer, both of us moving with caution. Griffin blinks his eyes a few times, not really believing what he is seeing.
  • His head snaps towards the Warrior, we need to see if he is as surprised as we are and as I look into his widened eyes, it is clear he wasn’t expecting this either.
  • Griffin slowly takes another step forward to take a better look and then he stops dead in his tracks, we hadn’t been hallucinating.
