• "Open up." Jake's gruff voice demands from outside the cabin, sending my heart racing once again. Not with fear this time, but guilt and apprehension. "Now, Kyra." Jake urges.
• Scrambling to my feet, I unlock the door and step away from it to let Jake in. Jake's gaze zeroes in on me as he strides in and slams the door shut without even glancing back at it.
• "I... I..." I stutter but I'm not certain what I even plan to say.
