• Returning to my pack, I slumped onto the couch, overwhelmed by a mix of frustration and worry. I couldn’t believe how persistent Lia was, doing everything in her power to stay close to me, even involving the council.
• “Sorry to say this, but I think it’s time you start acting like an Alpha and not a fool,” Derek's voice echoed in my mind, sharp with irritation. “If you lose our mate this time, I’ll take over, making things worse for you as an Alpha.
