• “Where is Jared?” Mila said, twirling her phone in her hand, while the other was impatiently squeezing a cigarette. They were in the backyard, taking while she was taking her daily dose of nicotine.
• “Upstairs, playing with Mason. It's the only thing he's been doing the past few days,” Amely said, putting her hands under her chin, her eyes gleaming with joy. She leaned back in the armchair and glanced up to the second floor. She could feel Jared and their son there, playing with a small ball. The way Mason was giggling and laughing was making her heart shiver in delight.
