Chapter 6 Wedding
- ANDREA still can't believe that Zandy is gay because he's handsome. She expected a different character from him. Andrea also doubted if Zandy was really gay or not because of his very manly stance and voice that even I wouldn't believe if I didn't know who Zandy was.
- "Are you serious about marrying me?"
- I was a little surprised when Zandy spoke next to me when I got out of the room where my family and his family were still talking about our marriage. They couldn't even wait for Dad to get out of the hospital to talk about it. They are excited for both of us, the opposite of how I feel.
- I closed my eyes for a moment. I tucked the hair blocking my face behind my ear, then faced him. He folded his arms while leaning against the wall near the door of the room.
- "Do you think I want to marry you? Do you think I would want to marry someone like you? I remembered what you've done to me, Zandy, and I will never forget that," I said with a hint of annoyance and anger because he is still the reason Roven and I broke up.
- Zandy grinned. He tilted his head slightly, then looked at me seriously. "Are you still bitter about your ex leaving you? Do you think I'm the reason you broke up? Come on, Miles, I know you know within yourself that there was another reason why he left you," he insisted.
- I frowned in surprise. Another reason? I wondered what reason he was talking about but I couldn't think of a reason other than him. I grinned. "Zandy, you don't have a thick face, right? You're the one who stole him and acted innocent in front of me?" I teased back at him.
- Zandy took a breath and bowed for a moment. "I don't have time to explain everything to you, Miles. Believe what you want to believe. Don't let your past control your present. Not everything you see is the truth." He turned and walked away from me. I was left dumbfounded and thinking about what Zandy had said to me. What did he mean by what he said?

- I JUST shook my head and didn't speak when they were discussing our wedding. I don't know why they are in such a hurry to think that we will run out of priests to marry us. We didn't even get into their conversation, the smile on their lips didn't disappear and they were truly happier than us to be married.
- They decided to get us married as soon as possible. They're really in a hurry because that will be done on the first day of the month, next month, a few days after Dad was released from the hospital. That's just over a week away. I just want to scream in annoyance and sadness. Did I make the right decision to agree to this marriage? Can I still withdraw?
- "Your family isn't in a hurry to get you married, right?" Andrea said sarcastically while we were eating at a restaurant near the hospital after talking with Zandy and my family about our wedding. "Marriage immediately? There's no getting to know each other's stage for you two. Are they that desperate just because of that damn old curse?" She added. "But in fairness, if I'm going to marry someone like Zandy, I'm a fool even though I'm not sure of his gender. He's hot and no doubt he's super handsome. Artist level, that's it!"
- I was just overwhelmed by what Andrea said. "Yes, I know Zandy is handsome, but he's still the reason Roven and I broke up. If I had another choice, I wouldn't marry that man," I said, showing regret and remorse. "I don't understand them either, they still believe too much in that curse and because of that I got married too early," I grumbled and violently cut the meat on my plate making a noise.
- Andrea smiled. "I don't even know what to say to you, Miles, it looks like there's nothing I can do in your situation. You've already chosen that, you've made a decision and all you have to do is prepare for what will be next in your life after you're married," she said with sadness and sympathy in her voice.
- I just sighed and couldn't move my food. That's what I have to do, prepare for what will happen to me after this wedding. But I won't allow myself to spend the rest of my life with that Zandy. I will think of a plan for him to divorce me himself after the marriage and we will both be free.

- WHILE Mom was paying the hospital bills, I was arranging all the things in the room for Dad to leave the hospital. Even so, I feel reassured because from what I can see, Dad is doing well. The doctor said he still can't be stressed because of his heart disease which can lead to an attack. So as far as possible, I will not argue with him anymore and just follow what he wants.
- Later I was surprised when the door spat at Zandy. I thought it was an actor who entered the room because of his handsome face and the way he looked like he was going to a photo shoot. He was wearing a white t-shirt and a polo shirt over that with black pants.
- "Good afternoon, Uncle Wesley," he greeted Dad with a smile that made me frown because of his kind treatment.
- "Oh! Good afternoon too, son," Dad returned with a full smile. I just shook my head. "You even bothered to come here, maybe we're bothering you."
- "Oh! No worries, Uncle, and besides I have nothing to do today, so I'm free," Zandy smiled back.
- I can only shake my head and gasp because of his kindness to Dad which I can't believe. "You shouldn't have bothered, Zandy, we can handle this," I told them and smiled carefully at him.
- He also smiled when he turned to me. "You can't do anything now, I'm already here," he said, then turned back to Dad. He adjusted the wheelchair and helped Dad to sit in it. Dad is also strong but he should use a wheelchair so that he doesn't get tired.
- "Oh! You're here, son? I'm sorry for the trouble, huh," Mom said when she entered the room. She approached Dad and helped take care of him.
- "It's okay, Aunt," said Zandy.
- "You are a very kind boy, hijo!" Mom praises him. I just snorted and imitated Mom. If only they knew what Zandy did to me, maybe they wouldn't say he was nice.
- Later we arranged all the things in the room and went out. Mom was pushing Dad while Zandy was carrying a few bags and I was carrying only some plastic bags.
- We got into the car brought by Zandy and he also drove it. I just frowned because of the annoyance I felt toward him. As the car moved forward, I glanced at Zandy from time to time. He was serious and looked directly at the road. I was sitting next to him in the front seat of the car.
- "Are you glancing at me?"
- I frowned at Zandy's question. I turned to him. "I'm not looking at you? You're just imagining things, Zandy," I said flatly.
- He just grinned and continued driving. We were all silent again inside the car. I feel like I really can't handle being with Zandy for a long time. I was just thinking that if I would be able to live under the same roof with him, I might not go home to the house we are going to live in.
- The car stopped when we reached the house. I got out of the car and opened the gate. My forehead was wrinkled when the sunlight hit my eyes.
- Zandy helps Dad get out of his car. If you look at him, he seems kind and gentlemanly but every time I think about what he did to me, it all gets erased.
- Frowning, I picked up the things from the car and so did Mom while Zandy was pushing Dad's wheelchair. I made a face at the end because of his appearance.
- After I put the things in the living room, I went back to the car to get the things left there.
- "They thought you're kind. If only they knew who that Zandy was—"
- "Are you saying something? Why don't you just tell it to my face?"
- I was like a statue from what I heard. I closed my eyes tightly and slowly turned around, Zandy came across me with his arms folded while leaning against his car. His brow furrowed a little because of the slight sunlight hitting his handsome face.
- There was a shy look on my face but because I was annoyed with him, it changed. "Why isn't it true? You pretend to be nice in front of them but the truth is you stole someone's boyfriend," I scolded him.
- He grinned and inhaled. He tilted his head for a moment. "Is that how you think, Miles? You're not mature enough if that's how you think about people. Is a person's true character seen by one mistake they made or a sin they committed? I care and it's true, you're just making it a fake," he said meaningfully.
- I was immediately speechless by what he said. I don't know but I was hit by the words he said. I suddenly felt guilty. I saw Zandy turn around and start walking but immediately stopped.
- He faced me. "Do you think I want this marriage too? I don't want to get married to a girl like you, I just don't have a choice." He grinned and then walked away from me.
- I was left speechless. My annoyance with Zandy returned because of what he said.
- "Haist! You're so arrogant! You thought you were handsome. Gay!" I teased and walked briskly into the house.
