• “I wouldn’t want a promotion just like that!” Darlene interrupted before it could get where it was going. This was what she wanted, but she would still be the good and humble person she was. She couldn’t just sit and accept it. Nathan wouldn’t let her hear the end of it. He would say that this was her plan all along. Well it was…but she didn’t want him to be right about her. He seemed like a sore winner.
