Chapter 2 I Can Hit You With Them

  • After giving it some thought, however, Osmond shook his head.
  • Wait, no... Something doesn't seem right. Paul's attitude earlier feels a little too forced. The Paul I know isn't like that!
  • Suddenly, a young man made his way into the room and asked, “Oh? Are you awake, you dimwit?”
  • He looked rather handsome and had a devilish grin on his face.
  • On top of that, he was wearing a black military coat and had a huge sword in his hand.
  • The military coat looked really intimidating, with the black color theme and golden lining on the sides.
  • The huge sword was incredibly heavy and ridiculously sharp, giving it an icy-cold aura.
  • The combination of the coat and the sword made the young man look dashing and domineering.
  • Osmond narrowed his eyes when he saw the young man standing before him.
  • This is Kieran Zeller, the eldest son of the prominent Zeller family in Jadeborough. He has long since set his sights on Constance because of her beauty, and he refuses to give up even after she got engaged to me. Throughout the past two years, Kieran has, on many occasions, shown up at the Quantrill residence. He conspired with Constance's mother, Flora Watson, on how they would kick me out of the Quantrill family, all while I was right next to them. Had Constance not stopped them from doing so, they probably would've gotten rid of me long ago.
  • There was a cold glint in Osmond's eyes as he stared at Kieran's outfit.
  • “Are you even worthy of wearing that Nine-Star Commander's uniform and wielding that Guardian Sword, Kieran? Are you really not afraid to die?” he shouted coldly.
  • Kieran was shocked to the core when he heard that.
  • What? Is he no longer a dimwit? I heard Osmond used to hold a pretty high position in the army, which was why Old Mr. Quantrill liked him so much. Even so, that's all in the past now. Osmond has lost all that power and glory along with his mobility! I'm the eldest son of the prominent Zeller family in Jadeborough! I have no reason to fear a mere cripple!
  • With that in mind, the look of shock on Kieran's face soon turned to disdain as he said, “Even if you're no longer mentally disabled, you're still a wheelchair-bound cripple! What could you possibly do to me, Osmond? I don't know what you used to be, but now, you're nothing but a cripple who has to live off the Quantrill family! So what if I'm wearing your uniform and wielding your sword? I'll even f*ck your fiancée Constance in the future, and you wouldn't be able to do sh*t about it! You can only sit in that wheelchair of yours and watch it all happen before your very eyes!”
  • Kieran then fiddled with Guardian Sword before holding it against Osmond's throat.
  • “See? You're completely at my mercy right now! I can do whatever I want to you!” he said with a mocking and disdainful look in his eyes.
  • I've wielded that Guardian Sword in countless battles, and now it's being held against my throat... How dare he mock my honor and glory?
  • Osmond felt the flames of anger raging within him, but he couldn't even muster the strength to stand up.
  • Kieran burst out laughing when he saw that.
  • However, his laughter came to an abrupt halt when Osmond reached out and gripped the sword with two of his fingers.
  • He then glared coldly at Kieran as he said, “You can do whatever you want, you say? I was practically undefeatable on the battlefield! Who do you even think you are, Kieran?”
  • Those words had barely left Osmond's mouth when he flicked his finger.
  • Bam!
  • The sword was instantly sent flying, and Kieran could even feel his palm tingling from the vibrations.
  • Kieran stepped forward, grabbed Osmond by the collar, and shouted through clenched teeth, “What did you say? How dare you threaten me? You're paralyzed from the waist down, you piece of sh*t! What could you possibly do with those hands of yours?”
  • His eyes were filled with anger and hatred as he glared at Osmond.
  • Smack!
  • The next thing Kieran knew, he had been knocked back by a powerful slap.
  • Thud! Thud! Thud!
  • Kieran stumbled backward and crashed right into a desk.
  • As a clearly visible palm print slowly formed on his face, Osmond raised his right hand and said coldly, “I can hit you with them.”
  • After taking a moment to regain his composure, Kieran jabbed a finger at Osmond and yelled furiously, “You dare hit me? Do you have any idea who I am? I'm the eldest son of the powerful and wealthy Zeller family in Jadeborough! You're done for!”
  • “Pfft! The Zeller family wasn't even heard of in Jadeborough when I was leading my soldiers down south!” Osmond replied nonchalantly.
  • “You...”
  • Kieran was about to charge at him when a middle-aged woman stepped in.
  • “What's going on here?”
  • She had thin lips and upturned eyes, which gave her an air of arrogance.
  • That woman was none other than Constance's mother, Flora.
  • In other words, she was Osmond's future mother-in-law.
