Chapter 7 Why Did You Leave Me
- Her rosy lips puckered in displeasure as her eyes, hazy from the alcohol, focused on the glass in Cassius' hand. Like a kitten, she sniffed the air and then nuzzled herself into his embrace.
- “Hehe. Booze. You have booze in there. I want it.” She tilted her face upward, grinning foolishly at Cassius.
- The moment her dazed eyes met with the man's deep, icy stare, she felt as though her heart had been struck. Her large, intoxicated eyes blinked rapidly as tears welled up them.
- “Why did you leave me, Maverick?” she cried. “Didn't you promise you'd only ever love me? Maverick...”
- Akin to a wounded little animal, she clung tightly to him, burying her face in his broad, warm chest and breaking into muffled sobs. Her tears flowed freely, reflecting her deep sorrow and distress.
- One by one, her tears fell onto the man's pristine white shirt, leaving it stained with a puddle.
- “Don't leave me, Maverick,” she choked.
- “Maverick?”
- Being overlooked by a woman was one thing, but now, he was being treated as a substitute for another man. A flicker of displeasure quickly ignited on Cassius' stern face.
- He looked into Samantha's dark eyes grimly.
- “Get up and look at me clearly, you crazy woman. Do you even know who I am?” Cassius roughly shoved the woman nestled in his arms, his stern voice carrying a hint of anger. He was on the verge of losing every ounce of patience thanks to this woman.
- He wished nothing more than to toss her straight out of the private room.
- “Ahh!” Being pushed so forcefully, the drunken Samantha lost her balance and found herself tumbling to the ground.
- Perhaps it was the physical pain from the fall, or perhaps it was the accumulation of dejection in her heart reaching a breaking point, but Samantha sat on the ground and began to cry uncontrollably.
- Her wails were so piercing that they shook the room, causing Cassius' brows to crease more deeply. He cast an irritated glance at the woman sitting at his feet, a mess of snot and tears. He truly regretted bringing her to the bar.
- Rudely, he reached out and yanked Samantha who was sitting on the ground and wallowing in her pain. “If you continue to cry, I'll throw you out,” he threatened harshly.
- Alas, his threats were utterly ineffective against the inebriated woman. Wiping away her tears and squinting, Samantha carefully observed the figure in front of her.
- “I really like you, Maverick.” Right after that, she puckered her red lips and leaned in unexpectedly.
- The kiss, sweet and laced with alcohol, blended into an uplifting and delightful atmosphere, creating a sense of enchantment.
- “Mmm...”
- Having taken the initiative to kiss him, Samantha was just about to pull away when she found herself firmly held from behind, her softness met with a strong resistance. Cassius promptly took the lead, intentionally deepening the kiss.
- “Mmph...”
- His kiss swept over her like a storm, wild and fierce. Samantha's will, already numbed by alcohol, was completely obliterated.
- Her hands, as if on their own accord, found their way around Cassius' neck. They clung to him like an octopus, tightly encircling him. Shyly following the man's lead, she began to timidly respond to his passionate kiss.
- At that moment, her mind was ablaze with the heat of alcohol, passionately mirroring every move of his.
- “You little vixen. You're the one who stoked these flames.”
- His voice was deep and piercing.
- Under the dim yellow light, the petite woman in his arms had rosy cheeks. As her misty eyes fell on him, Cassius found himself surprisingly moved by this sight. Drawn to her drunken beauty, he tightened his grip on her waist.
- While holding her, a bizarre sense of familiarity seeped into his palm, leaving him surprised.
- “Kiss me,” Samantha mumbled, her words barely coherent and her rosy lips inviting him playfully.
- “You d*mned woman. Don't forget that playing with men comes with a price,” Cassius muttered under his breath. His self-control, which he had always taken pride in, was surprisingly crumbling every minute in front of her. The beast within him had already opened its crimson eyes, focusing intently on the prey in his arms.
- With his firm hand still on her waist, he leaned over and pinned her directly on the couch.
