Chapter 8
- Her phone buzzed. “I’m so thankful to whoever is calling, gosh that was embarrassing, " she murmured.
- She had tossed her phone in her bag earlier as she was in a hurry to get to the courthouse. “ Everything is annoying to me, after that asshole, now this damn phone is not an exception.
- After frantically searching every single corner of her handbag she found it.
- “ It’s the same phone number this morning,” she said.
- Staring down at the screen contemplating whether to ignore or answer.
- “I have a bad feeling about this phone call,” she muttered, biting her lip. But curiosity tugged harder. “Screw it — I’m answering.”
- Aiden looking from a distance noticed Emily’s hesitation to answer the call. He had his eyes fixed on her the entire time he decided to approach her and apologized for what he said earlier.
- “Hello, this Emily Watson speaking—who is this? Hello ! Are you there?” She asked, paranoid.
- “ I’m here, Emily, this is Steven,” he said humbly.
- Emily was shaken, she had waited for him to call her for a couple of months when she got there, but he never did! So she gave up and now out of nowhere, he had called her today of all days.
- “Steven, what do you want?—how did you get my contact? She asked angrily.
- Aiden upon reaching to tap her from behind heard her outburst on the phone.
- She walked out from the crowd.
- “ I kinda sneaked Felicia's phone a couple of times a few days ago, don’t be angry with her as she has no idea.”
- “I want us to talk, Emily.” Just say a word and I will book a flight to Blue Crest.” We haven’t spoken since the last time and I miss you badly.
- How dare he talk casually about missing her? Who the hell does he think he’s? To shatter her heart into pieces and later come back to talk to her like nothing happened? She questioned.
- Her voice dropped to a sharp whisper .“ There’s no point in you coming here. You’ve got ten minutes— talk.”
- Aiden who followed her to make sure she was okay happened to hear it all, blazing with anger he wondered how Steven got the nerve to call Emily after what he put her through.
- “ geez”, she looks scary when she is angry, she is always cheerful and sassy, I have never seen this side
- Jaw tight, Aiden spun on his heels. He didn’t trust himself to stand there any longer. Steven had nerves — and maybe it was time someone reminded him of that.
- Edwina, who is being interviewed after the trial, was scanning through the crowd to get a glimpse of Emily and caught sight of Aiden storming toward her, his face dark with fury. Anyone who dared to get in his way had a death wish.
- Emily couldn’t wait till the ten minutes to expire as she hung up the call. She has heard enough rubbish from him.
- She wandered off across the street as cars sped off in speed. She had no idea where she was headed but kept walking.
- She heard a tap on her shoulder as she turned to see him !__the man who opened the car door for her that morning. As if her soul was back in her body, the tap awakened her.
- “Miss Mr. Hutchison asked me to drop you off if you don’t mind this way please.”
- “ Thank you, but I will pass— I’m not going home right now, so go away. “ Her bloodshot eyes startled him as he looked up at her face with fury— he retreated to the car.
- “ Boss, Miss Watson said she is not going home now, she seems angry, should we head to the airport?”
- “ No! Drive closely behind her and make sure she doesn’t see you, or else you’ll be fired.”
- Josh, his bodyguard was dumbfounded, why would he have to be the venting bug for these two? Besides, he told the driver to go home after the trial as they were headed to Maywin.
- Aiden sitting in the tinted car witnessed the whole thing. He couldn’t leave her in the streets all by herself, what if something happened to her? He would never forgive himself.
- Emily after wandering around didn’t notice a car following her as she was lost in thoughts. She noticed a small local club and walked in that direction.
- “ Do you have vodka? She asked the bartender as she took a seat. "Miss this is a local bar, not some fancy bar.”
- “I want the strongest drink and the best you have.” She sat down patiently waiting for the bartender to serve her drink.
- Even though she was rude to her she didn’t care at all, she was here to drown her sorrows in alcohol. All eyes were on her as she walked into the bar, her confidence, face and body were perfectly intact.
- Her hair cascaded down her back, deep brown eyes, sharp nose and well-arranged teeth fit perfectly with her face, with her curvy body. She was perfectly caved.
- “ I watched as I walked into the bar, I knew what she was going to do, if I approached her I would have blown my cover, so I had to find a place to hide in the distance to watch her.
- All the men's eyes glee with hunger as she is there, I must say she is more stunning when she’s focused.
- I stared intently at her as she took every single shot. After about three or four shots she was already wasted.
- “Damn,” Looking at her drinking made my cock hard! I walked up to her to take her home as Josh was in the car waiting.
- I reached to carry her in bridal style, I got a kick in turn. She started sobbing, why is she crying? I was the one who got kicked by her. Why is she sobbing? She leaned on my shoulder to whisper something in my ears.
- I allowed her to do what she wanted. “ You’re much prettier than him! Why didn’t I meet you first? What’s your name?” She kept hitting my broad chest, as I kept quiet.
