• Lydia had been sitting on the couch for the past few hours, waiting for Malachi to arrive. Tears streamed down her face as she waited, unable to shake the thought that Dylan might truly be adopted and that something could have happened on the day she gave birth.
• Lydia shook her head after a moment of thinking. "No... that can't be true. I saw Dylan the moment I gave birth to him, so the idea of him being adopted is impossible. I'm sure Malachi would have told me if it were true. Maybe this paper is just fake anyway..."
• "I shouldn't worry about something that's not real. Malachi will deny it when I show it to him when he comes back," Lydia said, trying to console herself as she wiped the tears from her face. No matter what, she just couldn't believe it.
