CHAPTER 37

• "I know." I respond with a sigh as we step out of school. A car horn halts our movement, and I watch Lucy's face lit up as Darren parks beside us.
• "Hey, girls. Want a ride?" He offers with a smile, and Lucy literally squeals beside me, saying, "Well, since you're offering so nicely. " She jokes, and they both laugh.
• "Common, Abigail, " she pulls on my shirt, and I shake my head, saying, "No, I think I'm fine. I'm just going to walk."
