Chapter 13 You Worship Me

  • The disgust in his eyes turned into contempt, and he moved further away from me. “At least wipe your snot before you talk to me.”
  • Upon hearing that, I got some tissue papers from my handbag and wiped my snot away, then I looked at the mirror. What I saw was nothing less than a B-rate horror flick. My makeup was ruined, and my face looked like it was patched together with different patches of skin. My eyeliner and mascara had fallen off, forming dark circles under my eyes, and my tears were black in color.
  • I felt like puking the moment I saw myself, and I felt impressed that Roy managed to hold it in for as long as he did. Embarrassed, I covered my face and wiped my face in the other corner.
  • A moment later, Steven came in. “All done, boss. I told the crowd to delete everything they took.”
  • “Good. Let’s get something to eat,” Roy said.
  • Oh, so he was on his way to lunch, huh? So that’s how he saw me and came to my rescue. God, I wasted his lunch hour and showed him my horrifying face. Guess I owe him another one.
  • They stopped before a classy Western restaurant, and Roy got out of the car. By that time, I had already wiped my face clean. “Thanks for the save, Mr. McGowan. I should leave now, so enjoy your meal.” I bowed at him deeply, but before I got out, I saw a white USB drive in front of me.
  • I wanted to take it from him, but he took it back. “Come in,” he told me curtly before going into the restaurant.
  • Oh, no. What should I do? What should I do?? He has my nudes, and he could do anything with it. Yeah, he saved my *ss three times, but who knows what he might do with my photos? I followed him reluctantly, but my gaze never left his pocket. That was where the drive was, and if I managed to take it from him, he couldn’t threaten me anymore. But how can I pull it off?
  • Roy was a rich guy, and a stupidly rich one at that, so of course he reserved a whole room for lunch. It was a huge room too, and I bet I could do a backflip if I wanted too.
  • The waiter was a blond foreigner, and a bit of a snob at that. He took a look at us and handed the menu to Roy, since I looked like a mess. Roy skimmed through the menu, while I looked at the orchid, refusing to indulge him.
  • Then, he tapped the table lightly, and I turned back to him. “What is it?”
  • “You make the order.” After saying that, he gave me the menu.
  • At least you’re not a total scumbag. Well, ladies first then. I opened the menu as elegantly as I could, but when I saw the content, my jaw dropped. What the f*ck is this language? Well, I was good enough to be an English teacher for high school students, but I knew nothing about French. In the end, I closed the menu and handed it back to him. “I’m good. I had a burger earlier.”
  • When he heard that, he shot me a look. “Is that so? If I don’t know better, I would have thought you have no idea how to make an order.”
  • I glared at him. Can you not expose me?
  • “You could have just pointed at the picture of the dish you wanted, you idiot,” he mocked me.
  • I was about to mock him back too, but then he conversed with the waiter in fluent French. He sounded so natural that it made my jaw drop again. When he was done, the waiter nodded at him politely and left with the menu.
  • Roy then realized I was gawking at him, so he tapped the table again. “Don’t stare at me like that. I’m not an idol.”
  • I looked away quickly. He really thinks highly of himself, huh?
