Chapter 9 Heartwood

• “Close the ranks! Stick together!!!” Commander Jorah shouts at the top of his lungs but his voice is drowned out by the growing chaos.
• With growing desperation, the elves closed the ranks, launching more fireballs at the incoming faceless, only to watch in dismay as the creatures sucked them into their dark forms, advancing steadily nonstop.
• The Faceless go after the soldiers on the castle walls first, tearing them apart amidst swirling black mists. Blood and body parts rain down, along with their weapons.
