Chapter 41 A Glare

• Panting from the exertion, he looked up and froze. He was surrounded by more faceless vampires, their face although devoid of any features were cold and merciless. He had walked straight into and ambush. His victory was short-lived, and now he faced a new, deadly threat.
• Luca faced off against the faceless vampires. The forest around them seemed to hold its breath, the only sound being the rustle of leaves and the faint growl from Luca's throat.
• The scene turns to the nearby forest, with Lucien's voice cut through the tense atmosphere. "I'm starving," he declared, drawing the attention of Jorah and his army. They were on high alert, swords drawn and ready for any threat the vampire could pose.
