Chapter 63 The Awakening
- Jules POV
- The library is quiet at ten on a Wednesday morning, which is exactly why I chose it.
- I've been coming here eleven days straight — same table, same corner, fourth floor where the graduate students work and nobody talks above a murmur and Mrs. Edith, who runs the reference desk, brings tea around at eleven without being asked. I don't know exactly when she started doing it for me. One morning a white ceramic mug appeared at my elbow and she moved on without a word, and I held it with both hands and something tight in my chest loosened a fraction.
