Chapter 55 The Suspension

• The athletic director's office has a particular smell —coffee and carpet cleaner — and I sit in the chair across from his desk and listen to the formal language of consequences and think about Tyler's face when my hand punched him and feel absolutely nothing that resembles regret.
• Suspended indefinitely from team facilities pending review. That's the official version. What it means practically is that I can't use the weight room, can't attend film sessions, can't eat in the team dining hall, can't access the athletic complex at all except for scheduled practices, which I'm still required to attend but not permitted to participate in fully.
