Chapter 4 The Beautiful Hospital Director

  • Everyone was taken aback as they looked toward the door.
  • They saw a man walking in confidently before looking at Samuel and saying, "Old Mr. Canfield, I know traditional medicine, and I can cure you."
  • "Who's he?" Tyler was stunned for a moment before looking at Michael Baxter.
  • Michael observed Cole's figure and discovered that he didn't know Cole, so he yelled, "Who are you? Do you have a medical license? Can you take up the responsibility if something happens? Get out of my sight."
  • After saying that, he took out his phone to call security.
  • Cole looked at the yelling Michael and announced, "I don't have a medical qualification certificate, but I can save his life!"
  • "Save his life? Nonsense. Letting him eat poop is to cure his illness. The fundamental purpose of our practice is like sacrificing the soldier to save the general. We're trying to save his life here," Michael reprimanded.
  • "Who's the soldier and who's the general? Since you're such a savior, why don't you eat feces?" Cole retorted.
  • "Y-Y-You…" Michael couldn't win against Cole, and he was so angry that he stammered.
  • "Young lad, stop trying to make things more difficult for us, or else I'll immediately send you to the precinct!" Tyler yelled at Cole.
  • Turning his head to look at Samuel, Cole asked, "Old Mr. Canfield, are you going to accept the hospital's treatment, or would you like to try acupuncture?"
  • Samuel didn't even doubt whether acupuncture would work and immediately agreed, "Go on. Use your needles to cure me!"
  • "Mr. Canfield, Old Mr. Canfield has agreed. What about you?"
  • Cole moved his gaze onto Tyler.
  • Seeing that Cole was so confident, Tyler also felt hopeful and nodded before asking Michael, "Dr. Baxter, what do you think?"
  • "Hmph! I've already said it, even the best hospitals in Americania use these two methods. I can't do anything if you insist on letting this random person treat Old Mr. Canfield, but you'd better be prepared, for the hospital won't take responsibility if something goes wrong!"
  • When Tyler noticed that Michael was angry, he frowned and warned Cole, "Listen, kid, I'll be frank with you. If you can cure my dad, everything will end well, and I can give you however much you ask for. But, if you can't cure my dad or in any way worsen his condition, I'll make sure you pay for it!"
  • Cole gave him a reassuring smile and rolled up his sleeves while making his way over to Samuel. Next, he took out the box of silver needles he took from the nurses' station.
  • "That kid looks quite young, yet he dares to challenge Dr. Baxter! He's so full of himself."
  • "I think he might be here to cause trouble. Dr. Baxter is an expert in his field, so how could he misdiagnose a patient?"
  • "That's right. Look at him, acting arrogant with his box of needles. He looks like a fraud no matter how I look at him. What's more, if he can cure this illness on his own, what good are hospitals?"
  • The crowd whispered while a few took out their phones, wanting to record this incident.
  • At that moment, a few doctors wearing their robes just happened to pass by the treatment room.
  • They dispersed the crowd and headed inside.
  • "What's going on here, Dr. Baxter?"
  • The doctor in the lead was a young woman with glasses. She was an exceptionally beautiful woman with a delicate face and slim figure.
  • "Dr. Young!" Michael pointed at Cole and explained the situation in a few sentences.
  • "Really? Could such a traditional medicine physician be real?"
  • Madison Young raised an eyebrow and looked in Cole's direction before carefully scanning him with her eyes.
  • On the other hand, Cole seemed like he couldn't hear the crowd's chatter and skillfully pierced the silver needles into a few main acupoints in Samuel's meridians.
  • "Ouch! That hurts!"
  • Unlike how other patients would react, Samuel screamed in pain every time a needle pierced him.
  • He bit on his lower lip while tightly grabbing onto the sides of the bed.
  • In just a short moment, his clothes were drenched in sweat.
  • "Old Mr. Canfield, we're almost done. Hang on for a while longer."
  • Upon saying that, Cole skillfully flicked the end of the needle.
  • Then, the needles were seen instantly trembling to a special frequency.
  • "Look, the needles are moving."
  • "Oh my! Oh my gosh! There's a red string coming out. A red string has come out!"
  • The crowd was exclaiming in surprise as they had never seen this method of traditional medicine being used.
  • "That's it! He's all cured."
  • A few minutes later, Cole removed the needles, and Tyler immediately came over and grabbed Samuel's hand while asking, "Dad, how do you feel?"
  • "Oh gosh!" Samuel moved and slowly stood up. "Wow, I don't feel any pain. The pain is gone."
  • "What?"
  • Everyone besides Cole was shocked, especially Michael, who then pulled Samuel over to a hospital bed and had him lie down before checking up on him.
  • Three minutes later, Michael came out with confusion and surprise in his eyes.
  • The crowd immediately knew the answer based on his expression.
  • "How long did that take? It was less than ten minutes, right? How can a person be cured after getting pierced by a few needles? That's absurd."
  • "Who knows? But Old Mr. Canfield has recovered, which means that kid does have some skills."
  • "So, Dr. Baxter? Are you still going to argue with me on what medicine is?"
  • Smiling, Cole turned to look at Michael and taunted him.
  • "You're just lucky."
  • After giving Cole a death stare, Michael left with his tail between his legs.
  • Watching him leave, Cole laughed. "Dr. Baxter, traditional medicine is the knowledge passed down from our ancestors for thousands of years, so don't be quick to deny it with your so-called conventional medicine. Traditional medicine can cure the illnesses modern medicine can't! This is the essence of our nation Broynia!"
  • When Michael heard that, he trembled violently before ducking inside the bathroom.
  • Once Cole was done with his speech, he found the excited Tyler and gave him a prescription for the herbal remedy.
  • "Follow this remedy and boil it down for Old Mr. Canfield. Also, make sure that he eats light foods these few days."
  • Tyler hurriedly accepted the remedy and gave it to his secretary, Matt Welsh, then smiled at Cole, saying, "Thank you for today, young man. May I know your name?"
  • "You can call me Cole."
  • Then, Tyler took out a paper bag from Matt's briefcase, seeming to have about 200,000 in it, and gave it to Cole while beaming.
  • "Cole, this is a meager token of my appreciation. I hope you don't mind."
  • "I didn't save Old Mr. Canfield for money!"
  • With a wave of his hand, Cole refused the money and left the ward.
  • "Mayor, that young man seems like a good kid. He even refused your money," Matt commented.
  • Meanwhile, Tyler narrowed his eyes and didn't make any comments. His years of being in politics made him think about things more deeply.
  • Since Cole refused his money, it might be because he wanted a larger reward!
  • "Sigh! Forget it. Take it as we owe him. There's bound to be an opportunity to return the favor!"
  • "Please wait." Right after Cole left the ward, a beautiful woman in a doctor's robe chased after him.
  • "You are?"
  • "I'm the assistant director of this hospital. My name is Madison Young."
  • After introducing herself, Madison looked at Cole with such eagerness it was as though she wanted to swallow him up.
  • "You want to talk to me about something?" Cole asked.
  • "I noticed you're a traditional medicine practitioner. I have a strange case on my hands and would like to ask for your help. If you're willing to help me, I can agree to any request you ask for."
  • "You'll agree to anything I ask for?" Cole was taken aback, and then he observed Madison's entire figure.
  • He had to admit that the female director before him looked very pretty.
  • Her figure was plump and slender at the right places, but Cole only had Anna in his heart and was not interested in other women.
  • However, he was curious about how strange the strange case Madison talked about was.
