Chapter 12 Questioning Authority

  • "Fine, I'll press!"
  • To prove his innocence, Michael pressed hard. Unexpectedly, a sharp pain shot through him. He couldn't help but cry out in pain as sweat broke out on his forehead and his face was twisted in agony.
  • "Do you believe me now?" Cole smiled.
  • Seeing everyone looking at each other, Michael said in an unconvinced tone, "Even if I did, it's impossible because of that..."
  • Michael tried hard to defend himself.
  • "I have a special way to prove this. You stretch out your hand." Cole raised his eyebrows.
  • Michael suddenly felt guilty and took a few steps back. "I won't just do anything you tell me to. Why should I listen to you?"
  • "Well, what are you afraid of? Stretch out your hand and let everyone see the difference between you and normal people!" Cole said as he took a step forward.
  • "What difference? Stop bluffing the people here." After saying this, Michael looked nervous. He quickly put his hands in his pockets so that no one could see them, as if to cover up something.
  • Just at this moment, a phone rang in Michael's pocket.
  • Michael was so frightened that his hand shook, and the phone fell to the ground. A young man's voice then came from the phone. "Honey, did I make you feel well last night? I'll be waiting for you at home tonight! See you soon!"
  • After a short moment of shock all around, there was a burst of laughter from everyone at the scene.
  • Oh my gosh, Michael really likes this kind of thing.
  • Wait, he's the bottom?
  • Immediately, Michael felt his face burning hot. He wished he could find a crack in the ground and hide inside.
  • Cole picked up the phone with a smile, handed it to Michael, and said, "Michael, we can't see anything from your hands. I was just scaring you."
  • "What? You!" Michael looked murderous.
  • "Cole, you're gonna get it today!" With a roar, Michael rushed toward Cole furiously.
  • "Stop!" Aiden couldn't stand it anymore.
  • He came to Michael, slapped his face viciously, and shouted, "Don't you think you've embarrassed yourself enough?"
  • "Dr. Calhoun, me?" Michael lowered his head while covering his red and swollen cheeks.
  • "You're a doctor, yet how dare you do such an offensive thing! Get the hell out of here!"
  • "Dr. Calhoun, I..." Michael wanted to continue explaining, but seeing Aiden's extremely cold eyes, he shrank his neck and swallowed the rest of the words.
  • "Cole, remember today! You'll get it from me soon!"
  • "Michael, don't leave yet; I haven't prescribed the medicine for you yet!"
  • Cole hurriedly picked up a pen, wrote something on a piece of paper, crumpled it up, and threw it at Michael.
  • "You must take the medicine in time. Otherwise, your anal fissure will worsen, and you will die."
  • Michael's face darkened as he looked at the prescription. He really didn't know if he should take it. After all, he was completely shamed today, and he might never be able to find respect in the medical field in the future.
  • While Michael was feeling annoyed, Aiden scolded, "What a useless brat. Why aren't you thanking Cole? He is treating you!"
  • Michael didn't dare to disobey this order, so he put away the ball of paper, and gritted out, "Thank you!"
  • "You're welcome. The traditional medicine in my prescription is very commonly found. You can pick wild chrysanthemums and the like by the roadside. It costs nearly nothing, so you can definitely afford to use them."
  • Cole's flat words sounded extremely harsh to Michael. This time, he had lost completely, and his loss was embarrassing!
  • As soon as Michael left, Aiden said with a dark face, "Everyone, Michael was my student. As a teacher, I was incapable of disciplining him well. Hence, I apologize to everyone here!"
  • "Dr. Calhoun, there's really nothing to apologize for. There are all kinds of students and you really can't control all of their actions," someone said.
  • "It's my fault, so please forgive me and don't let this matter out. I'm begging all of you!"
  • "Uh…"
  • Seeing that Aiden had bowed and apologized, everyone dared not defy him.
  • At this time, among the patients queuing up to see the doctor, a middle-aged woman suddenly fell to the ground with a crash and began twitching non-stop.
  • There was a burst of exclamation all around.
  • "Oh no, someone fainted!"
  • "Get out of the way! Let me go and see!"
  • Aiden rushed over immediately.
  • "Dr. Calhoun, how is my mother?" the woman's son asked anxiously.
  • "Young man, don't worry. Tell me what symptoms your mother has been experiencing?"
  • "My mother had a fever before, and she got it checked at the hospital. The doctor said it was just a common cold. But after she used a saline drip, she started vomiting and things became worse."
  • One of the conventional doctors just finished the examination and said, "It is indeed a cold, but it has already caused complications. It's accompanied by rhinitis and colitis. These symptoms are mainly caused by indigestion. The hospital she went to did not treat her properly at all."
  • "Ah, then what should I do?"
  • The woman's son panicked.
  • "Don't worry, I'll get some medicine for her to take first. We should eliminate the inflammation in her body and then give her a full-body examination." One of the modern medicine doctors finished speaking and was going to carry it out immediately.
  • "Wait!"
  • "Young man, do you have any questions?"
  • "My mother's situation is a bit different. Now, she can't eat anything, and she even spits out water." The woman's son sighed.
  • "Huh?"
  • "Is it so serious?"
  • The people around were taken aback. They didn't expect that a simple cold would have such severe symptoms. Even Aiden and Gabriel found it very difficult to treat. Now, the patient couldn't swallow anything, and the most urgent matter was to eliminate the inflammation in her body!
  • "Should we try antibiotics?" someone suggested.
  • "Yeah, that's the only way. Give a shot of antibiotics to stop the inflammation, so that the patient can eat something; otherwise, she will starve to death."
  • Gabriel also nodded and said, "After she eats something, I will prepare traditional medicine to help treat her condition."
  • "Doctors, I'm counting on you!" the patient's son said gratefully.
  • "Don't worry, your mother's illness is strange, but it's just a minor illness. No need to act like she's going to die," Aiden said with a smile, then ordered his assistant to fetch antibiotics.
  • But at this moment, Cole suddenly rushed up and shouted anxiously, "Wait, you can't use antibiotics!"
  • What he said stunned everyone present and they fell silent for a moment.
  • "Are you questioning my prescription?" Aiden huffed coldly.
  • Madison was also taken aback. She hurried forward, pulling Cole. "Cole, the situation is urgent now, so let them treat it first and wait until the patient is out of danger!"
  • "The patient's body is very weak and her condition is resistant to conventional medicine. Using antibiotics indiscriminately will cause serious allergic symptoms. Do you want to kill her?"
