Chapter 15 Refining the Heart-Nourishing Pill

  • Another hour passed, and when the crackling was heard again in the pill furnace, Cole carefully lifted the cover.
  • The moment it was opened, a strong and almost insoluble herbal fragrance hit their nostrils.
  • Gabriel took a deep breath and felt instantly revitalized. His exhaustion was suddenly washed away, and he felt his age was lightened by a few years.
  • The pill furnace's bottom was littered with four white pills which resembled high-quality pearls.
  • Cole nodded in satisfaction. The Heart-Nourishing Pills were finally ready.
  • He then proceeded to take out several exquisite glass vials prepared in advance.
  • Cole put away all the Heart-Nourishing Pills and carefully sealed the bottles.
  • When he returned to the ward, Cole took out a pill and gave it to Anna.
  • Anna slowly opened her eyes about 15 minutes later.
  • Seeing Cole in front of her eyes, she asked, "Cole, am I in heaven?"
  • "I'm sorry for not taking good care of you and sending you here to meet me." Cole felt soreness in his eyes as he clutched Anna's hands.
  • "Anna, we're still alive. From now on, I will never let anyone bully you again!"
  • With a pale face, Anna squeezed a smile using all her might and said, "I believe you."
  • When she was about to say something more, Cole stopped her. "Go to sleep. You need to rest now!"
  • With that, she closed her eyes, and her breath became even. Besides looking a little weak, she looked just like any ordinary person taking a nap.
  • After a night's sleep, the toxin in Anna's body fully dissipated.
  • The next day, Cole brought her to a luxurious restaurant to celebrate her recovery.
  • "Cole, why don't we eat at home? It's costly to eat here," Anna suggested since a plate of ordinary steak here cost her a month's salary.
  • "I work at Benevolent Hospital now and am paid a monthly salary of 3000!" Cole made up a random excuse.
  • "What do you do for a living? How could you earn so much?"
  • Just as Cole was about to answer her question, a male waiter brought a tray over to their table.
  • "Good day, beautiful lady! This is a bottle of high-end red wine. It is a gift from Mr. Yates. Please enjoy!"
  • The waiter placed a bottle of high-end red wine on the table in front of Anna.
  • "Wine?"
  • Both Anna and Cole were slightly startled.
  • Then, Anna followed the waiter's gaze and saw a man wearing branded clothes from head to toe nodding at her.
  • "Sorry, I don't know who Mr. Yates is, so please take the wine back!" Anna declined the other party's kindness.
  • She actually refused?
  • The waiter was a little startled before revealing a smile.
  • "Mr. Yates is being really friendly. You should just accept it! You know, there are many women out there trying to curry favor with him. Now that he is willing to give you a bottle of wine, you should accept it with gratitude."
  • Cole was no longer able to stand it as he roared, "Are you deaf? My wife told you to take the wine away!"
  • "Miss, I think you should think twice about it. Mr. Yates is way better than this man sitting beside you. You should appreciate his actions." The waiter smiled gently at her and glanced at Cole contemptuously.
  • For him, Cole was not comparable to Silas.
  • "If you don't take it away, I'm going to call your manager!" Anna was agitated.
  • "Hah. What an arrogant woman! No woman I've ever met has directly rejected me before!"
  • Seeing how the matter had escalated, Silas walked over with a smile, and behind him, his group of scoundrel friends tagged along with playful grins.
  • "You're awesome, Mr. Yates! Are you trying to snatch a woman in public?"
  • "Don't you know who he is? He's the son of the CEO of Yates Department Store. They've depended on Firby Group these few years and made a huge profit. I reckon they will soon become the top-ranked department store in Elliswall."
  • The waiter grinned. Once Silas showed up in person, she would give in!
  • "Hello, beautiful. I'm Silas Yates, and it is an honor for me to meet you today. Shall we be friends?"
  • Silas walked over to Anna and smiled elegantly.
  • His demeanor was confident, and his action was calm.
  • Of course, he directly ignored Cole's presence.
  • Anna didn't even spare a glance at him as she said, "Let's go, hubby!"
  • "Okay!" Cole nodded and was about to get up.
  • The waiter was agitated. "Miss, since Mr. Yates is already taking the initiative, please treat him the same. If you anger him, none of you will be able to get out of here."
  • "Leave! Why can't you speak more gently to this beautiful woman?" Silas glared at the waiter and scolded him.
  • Thereafter, he swirled the wine in his glass and turned to Cole. "Hey, brat! I like your woman. You better back off before I do something to you."
  • The moment he said that, his friends laughed out loud behind him.
  • "Get out while you can, brat! You won't be able to keep such a beauty."
  • "It is your wife's honor to attract the interest of Mr. Yates!"
  • "Get out!"
  • Cole pulled out a napkin and wiped his lips nonchalantly.
  • Seeing how Cole ignored him, Silas lowered his head and patted Cole's cheeks while asking, "Don't you understand what I just said? I told you to get out!"
  • "Do you know what happened to the last person who patted me on the face?" Cole uttered indifferently.
  • "What a stubborn man you are. Let's see what you're capable of!" Silas grinned and continued patting him on the face.
  • Just then, Cole flipped around and grabbed Silas' neck before knocking his head on the table.
  • Silas' head instantly cracked.
  • "Ah—"
  • Silas' friends didn't expect something like that to happen, so they shrieked in shock.
  • Anna also subconsciously covered her mouth and gasped.
  • "Why didn't you listen to me when I told you to leave?"
  • Crack! Silas' fingers snapped.
  • After a loud bang, Cole kicked Silas to the ground.
  • Silas rolled about 15 feet away and hit his friends before finally stopping.
  • One of his ribs had fractured, causing him to clench his teeth in agony. Blood was even dripping from the corner of his lips.
  • Unfortunately, Cole's actions were so neat and swift that none of them present caught what he did to Silas.
