Chapter 42 Mate And Mate Bonds
- Genevieve's POV
- The sky was dark and thundering with the rain that was threatening to start pouring at any moment. I could feel the droplets on my skin and bare feet as I walked in the woods with no idea where I was going. All I knew was that it was calling me and I couldn't resist the urge to refuse. The crows crowded raucously. The trees swayed harshly with the wind, and so was my dress and hair. The chilly gust of wind bit at my skin but I couldn't stop. Even though my legs were tired, it was dark and I kept stumbling, I couldn't bring myself to stop so I continued walking.
- Then suddenly, I felt myself getting closer to it. One step, two steps, it felt like in about a short while I would finally reach it. But, when I got close enough, fog covered the entire place and I heard hushed whispers. The grass beneath my feet seemed to be growing. I couldn't continue. It was like something in me awakened and I was too scared to, so I turned around and ran blindly in the dark startling the crows that fluttered their wings flying away into the midnight sky.
