• I hovered around my mate who now lay in his human form, lifeless on the ground. Next to him was the body of Oliver, and a few metres from them was Vadirr.
• I’d undergone a full transformation, something to be joyful about, but the pain that filled my heart was inexplainable. I could still feel the stabbing pain from where the bullet had hit him twice and I could not tell if he was still breathing or not. My heart throbbed with pain as I tried to shift back to my human form. I hadn’t mastered the form of transforming yet, so shifting back was proving harder than I thought. I howled in relief when I saw Duron’s car park a few feet away.
