Chapter 7 Aura Inspection Technique

  • In the Weiss residence's parlor, a man in his fifties with a stern face was pacing restlessly. Behind him, a group of over ten men, attired in black suits and donning sunglasses, stood in silence.
  • These individuals emanated intimidating auras, clearly a bunch of thugs.
  • Gordon, the patriarch of the Burton family in Jeahron, was a decisive, ruthless man involved in both legal and illegal circles when he was young.
  • Eventually, he assessed the situation and decisively legitimized his business, transforming into a lawful merchant.
  • However, everyone knew that underhanded tactics were often used behind the Burton family's business.
  • Today was a significant day for the Burton family. Howard was set to visit the Weiss family to propose marriage.
  • Initially, Gordon intended to accompany his son. However, Howard stopped him and said it was unnecessary. Additionally, he had an important client meeting that day, so he didn't tag along.
  • However, he received devastating news in the middle of his discussion. The Weiss family had rejected the marriage proposal and injured Howard.
  • Upon seeing the injuries of his son, particularly the comminuted fracture in his arm, Gordon felt a murderous rage welling up within him. Without wasting a moment, he gathered his men and stormed off to seek justice for his son.
  • As he anxiously awaited, Wallace finally showed up with his entourage. “Haha, Mr. Gordon, it's been a while. How have you been doing?”
  • Upon seeing Wallace, Gordon was puzzled. I thought this old geezer was gravely ill. He doesn't seem like he's on his deathbed at all.
  • Immediately after, his gaze swept over Maxim, who was standing behind Wallace, and finally rested on Skylar.
  • Gordon had already heard from the servants at home that the one who had injured Howard was a handsome, young man. Plus, anyone who could stand so close to Wallace was clearly not of ordinary status.
  • A murderous intent burst forth from Gordon's gaze. “Wallace, don't you already know why I'm here? Stop playing dumb!”
  • Wallace was quite taken aback. For many years, no one had addressed him by his real name to his face.
  • “I really have no idea. Where on earth did you get the guts to show up?” he demanded.
  • “You old geezer, don't be so arrogant! My son, Howard, proposed to your Wang family. It's fine that you turned him down, but how could you order your servant to attack my son? His entire arm's now crippled! You owe me an explanation! If you can't give me a satisfactory answer, don't blame me for decimating your family!”
  • At that moment, Gordon's expression was menacing, appearing as if he was ready to devour them.
  • Back then, after Howard was born, Gordon fell victim to a sneak attack from his enemies. He suffered severe injuries to his lower body, and to this day, Howard remained his only offspring.
  • In order to nurture and groom Howard, Gordon had poured countless resources into him, only to have him become disabled. How could he possibly accept this?
  • To his surprise, Wallace merely responded with a cold chuckle. “Mr. Gordon, speaking of which, I still have a score to settle with you!”
  • “What did you say?” Gordon widened his eyes in surprise. Wallace's attitude was just adding fuel to the fire.
  • “Of late, I've been bedridden, grappling with a severe illness, my life hanging by a thread. You Burtons have been using every trick in the book to suppress the stock prices of our family's businesses before acquiring them. What you did wasn't entirely wrong. After all, how could you possibly say no to a tempting opportunity that was laid out before you? Yet, your son, Howard, had the audacity to hire a quack doctor to assassinate me. He even had the nerve to talk big in front of me, using brute force to intimidate our family!”
  • “This can't be possible!” Gordon was shocked, as Howard and his few lackeys hadn't informed him about this.
  • If Howard actually did that, he could only blame himself for getting severely injured or even crippled. The Weiss family was already magnanimous enough for sparing his life.
  • Wallace turned his head to look at Maxim and gave him a knowing look. Maxim instantly grasped Wallace's meaning and promptly excused himself. It didn't take long before he returned with a tablet, which he handed directly to Gordon. “Mr. Gordon, don't just trust what you've heard. Seeing is believing. As for the incident that occurred yesterday, the surveillance footage is right here. Feel free to take a look.”
  • Immediately, a bald man standing behind Gordon stepped forward. He swiftly took the tablet from Maxim and respectfully held it out in front of Gordon before pressing the play button.
  • The tablet had meticulously documented everything that transpired after Howard entered the Weiss residence yesterday.
  • Watching the footage, Gordon found it hard to believe that the arrogant and domineering figure who had been bossing everyone around, only to end up getting beaten to a pulp was his son, Howard. “This... This can't be real...”
  • Gordon's reaction left the Weiss family somewhat perplexed. It was as if he had no idea what Howard did.
  • From the Weiss family's perspective, Howard only did all that because he was directed by Gordon.
  • At that moment, Skylar spoke up. “Mr. Burton, what's the relationship between the Burton family and the Parasite King?”
  • “What's this Parasite King you're talking about? What on earth is a Parasite King? What are you even saying?” Gordon asked, irritated.
  • At that moment, Skylar's soul was crystal clear. The vital energy within him circulated and converged in his eyes.
  • On the surface, he appeared perfectly normal, but in reality, he was employing a unique technique passed down to him by his master, Dorian—the Aura Inspection Technique.
  • Everything and anything in life operates on its own aura, an aura that reflects the very essence of their existence.
  • The followers of Druism, after thousands of years of devoted cultivation and research, ultimately distilled the Aura Inspection Technique.
  • Through the Aura Inspection Technique, users could better comprehend the world, using this knowledge to seek advantages and avoid harm.
  • The advanced application of the Aura Inspection Technique was used for reading people.
  • The aura within a person was, in reality, an expression of their own emotions.
  • For instance, if someone was consumed by rage, one could perceive a surge of anger when observing them through the Aura Inspection Technique.
  • If someone was filled with resentment, harboring the desire to kill another, an aura of murderous intent would emanate from them.
  • Alternatively, those who had been gravely ill or severely injured for a long time would subtly emit a faint aura of death.
  • In reality, the aura that people exuded could be perceived by those with a keen sense, even among ordinary individuals. However, such a sensation was fleeting.
  • The Aura Inspection Technique of Druism, however, was able to solidify this sensation, making it hundreds of times more powerful than the perception of an average person.
  • Skylar detected the aura emanated by Gordon, which displayed anger and resentment. Yet, there was no sign of deceit.
  • In other words, it seemed that Gordon was unaware of the connection between the Parasite King and Howard.
  • “Mr. Gordon, has your son, Howard, been exhibiting any of the following symptoms recently? Bloodshot eyes, mouth sores, increased appetite, irritability, and difficulty focusing?” asked Skylar.
  • Gordon was taken aback, realizing that what Skylar had pointed out were indeed the unusual changes he had recently noticed in his son.
