Chapter 21 Fully Prepared

• Skylar's figure rose gracefully, much like a balloon, and in an instant, he reached the top of the wall. He stretched his foot to touch the wall briefly, vaulted over the fence, and then landed silently on the ground.
• He was greeted by an expanse of weeds. The road, once wide enough for two trucks to drive side by side, was now completely obscured by a variety of shrubs.
• Both of them had anticipated this situation long ago. Kayden removed the machete he had been carrying on his back. With a swift swing, the overgrown weeds and thorny bushes before them were chopped off, revealing the patchy ground beneath.
