Chapter 15 Banished From The Family

  • Kayden's arrival seemed to bolster Logan's courage. Consequently, he decided to play the victim, accusing Skylar and Bianca of wanting to murder him.
  • Kayden subtly signaled his subordinates. Instantly, a few of the Weiss family's bodyguards swiftly surrounded Bianca and Skylar.
  • The few individuals who surrounded Skylar even brandished their weapons.
  • Everyone in the Weiss family knew Bianca was weak and powerless. Hence, it was clear that the one who had harmed Logan must have been Skylar.
  • Bianca stepped forward, facing Kayden directly. “Kayden, don't listen to his nonsense. Skylar and I were on our way back when these people suddenly burst out, intending to attack us. That jerk, Logan, ordered his bodyguards to beat up and cripple my fiancé. We were merely defending ourselves.”
  • Kayden nodded. “There are surveillance cameras in the courtyard. We can easily check the footage to see who's right and who's wrong.”
  • Upon seeing Kayden's attitude, Logan immediately became anxious. There were numerous cameras around, providing complete, unobstructed surveillance. If anyone were to investigate, everything would be exposed. “Kayden, what are you doing? Are you planning to side with this shameless couple? I was beaten to this state, and my bodyguards were even killed, yet you're still defending them? Aren't you afraid my grandpa will deal with you?”
  • “Calm down. What's real can't be faked, and what's fake can't be real. I will uncover the truth and report it to Old Mr. Weiss. Men, take Mr. Logan to get his wounds dressed. Don't let him escape. Once he's seen to, bring him directly to Old Mr. Weiss.”
  • The guards hummed in response, then swiftly surrounded Logan. Ignoring his continuous screams of agony, they hoisted him up and made a beeline for the infirmary.
  • Kayden was more than a decade older than Bianca. He had watched her grow up, so he knew very well what kind of person she was.
  • He was also well aware of Logan's detestable character.
  • Hence, Kayden was more inclined to believe Bianca rather than falling for the nonsense spouted by Logan.
  • “Thanks a lot, Kayden,” Bianca said.
  • “Are you all right, Ms. Bianca?”
  • “I'm fine.”
  • “Mr. Lucero, are you hurt? Do you need to visit the infirmary?”
  • “No need. Thank you for standing up for us, Kayden.”
  • “I was merely stating the facts. I'll report this to Old Mr. Weiss. It'll be best if you see him and tell him the truth to prevent certain despicable individuals from making false accusations.” Kayden spoke without showing any emotion, yet his words provided the two with clear-cut instructions.
  • The two expressed their gratitude to Kayden and proceeded to Wallace's residence under the protection of several guards.
  • At that moment, Wallace had just finished the medicine Skylar had prepared. Feeling quite comfortable throughout his body, he was about to take advantage of the warmth to rest when he received the news that Bianca and Skylar had been attacked. His expression instantly turned as cold as ice. “Bring that scoundrel Logan to me!”
  • In no time, Logan, swathed in bandages, was ushered into Wallace's study.
  • At that moment, Bianca and Skylar also arrived.
  • Upon seeing Wallace's murderous expression and menacing gaze, Logan instantly forgot his pain and dropped to his knees with a thud. “Grandfather, I—”
  • Before he could even finish his sentence, Wallace suddenly bellowed, “Shut your mouth, you scoundrel!”
  • Startled, Logan swallowed his words, nearly biting his own tongue in the process.
  • The next second, Wallace's expression unexpectedly softened, his gaze becoming gentle as he turned to look at Bianca. “Bianca, tell me what exactly happened.”
  • And so, Bianca recounted the recent events precisely as they had occurred to Wallace.
  • Once Bianca finished speaking, Kayden, who was standing off to the side, stepped forward and said, “Old Mr. Weiss, I've reviewed the surveillance footage from the courtyard. Everything Ms. Bianca has said is true.”
  • Upon hearing that, Wallace was immediately livid. Trembling with rage, he pointed at Logan. “Logan, you've truly let me down. Your father had always been incompetent. I never thought you could be even worse than him! I can't believe you even resorted to harming our own family members. It's clear to see how many wrongs you've committed under the guise of our family name.”
  • “Grandpa, I've been wrongly accused,” Logan retorted.
  • “You've got some nerve claiming you've been wrongly accused. What is done by night appears by day. Do you really think I'm oblivious to what you've been up to? You were always up to no good. To put it bluntly, the misdeeds you've committed are innumerable! Do you have any idea how many messes we've cleaned up for you behind the scenes? Without the protection of your family, you would have been done for long ago.”
  • The more Wallace scolded, the angrier he became. Once, he had held high hopes for Logan, but now, he was utterly disappointed in the latter. He's already a piece of junk, one that is beyond any hope of salvaging.
  • Upon observing, Skylar noticed that Wallace was excessively agitated at the moment, which wasn't particularly favorable for someone who had just narrowly escaped death.
  • Skylar swiftly moved forward, extending his right hand to place it on several acupoints on Wallace's back. Skylar's vital energy surged, and a balanced and harmonious internal force flowed from his palm, following Wallace's acupoints to enter the latter's body and starting to circulate along his meridians.
  • Wallace felt a refreshing sensation seep into every limb and bone as the vital energy entered his body. The feeling was indescribably comforting.
  • The overwhelming rage that he couldn't suppress just a moment ago was now replaced by a refreshing sense of calmness, and he quickly regained his composure.
  • “Um... Uh...” He spent a good while catching his breath, and only then could he calm his emotions.
  • “Old Mr. Weiss, calm down. It's not worth ruining your own health over someone else's mistakes.”
  • “Ugh, I'm so frustrated. This is such a misfortune that has befallen our clan! Aaron was never burdened with the responsibility of carrying on the family business. I figured his older brothers had that covered. So, I let him grow up carefree and happy. Yet, he was spoiled rotten, becoming a rich and spoiled brat. Who would have thought his son would turn out just as disappointing,” Wallace lamented.
  • “Grandpa Wallace, let the youngsters deal with it themselves. You don't need to worry about how they will turn out. After all, you can't control their lives forever.”
  • “Well, that's true.” Wallace turned his head, looking toward Maxim, who had rushed over upon hearing the news. “Maxim, relay my orders as the patriarch. Immediately expel Logan from the Weiss family and erase his name from our family records. Also, confiscate all of Aaron's shares. He can forget about claiming a share of our family's assets. From now on, whether they're scraping by or left out in the cold, it'll have nothing to do with the Weiss family.”
  • Logan was utterly dumbfounded. Being expelled from the family was a devastating blow to any members of a prominent family.
  • Without the protection of his family, he could no longer throw his weight around outside. Moreover, the enemies he had provoked previously would take revenge against him with no regard.
