Chapter 13 The Rich And Spoiled Brat Of The Weiss Family

  • Finnegan harbored ambitions toward the family's business. Even though he was fully aware that everything Skylar had said was true, he knew that their wealth would significantly diminish once the Weiss family acted according to Skylar's advice.
  • Additionally, Skylar would gain more control over the Weiss family's assets. This was something Finnegan couldn't accept.
  • “If we lose these two companies, the Weiss family's assets will shrink by sixty percent. The critical issue is that the remaining assets are not exactly top-tier! Once the Burton family acquires Platinum Real Estate, they will become the most prominent real estate magnate in Jeahron while our family descend into the ranks of second or third-tier families! Even if the Burton family is eyeing after the Weiss family's assets, we can't just hand them over. As long as we're cautious, there won't be any major issues! I support Finnegan's opinion!” Bianca's second aunt, Josephine, said.
  • Josephine was socially active and extremely cunning. She was quite unhappy with Wallace's excessive favoritism toward Skylar and Bianca, so she decided to align herself with Finnegan.
  • For a moment, the conference room was at a two to two stalemate.
  • Everyone started arguing, but no one could convince the other side.
  • Skylar didn't voice any further opinions. Instead, he subtly employed the Aura Inspection Technique and scrutinized each person present. He observed their emotions and attempted to gauge the thoughts of each individual.
  • Skylar noticed that Finnegan and Josephine, were constantly exchanging covert glances.
  • Suddenly, Josephine said, “Dad, there's a significant divide between us. I think this gap is hard to bridge. Nothing forcibly done is agreeable. Regardless of the approach taken, there will always be some who are left dissatisfied. I do, however, have a new suggestion in mind, but... it is rather difficult to voice out.”
  • “Go ahead, speak your mind. Let's brainstorm. Don't worry about making mistakes.” Wallace chuckled.
  • “My suggestion is, the Weiss family should restructure our assets and make some divisions. If we don't want to deal with the Burton family, then we should divide within ourselves!”
  • Upon hearing this, Trevor was instantly infuriated. “Josephine, what do you mean? Are you suggesting we should split the family? Dad isn't even dead yet! You're really out of line!”
  • The plan proposed by Josephine, though somewhat feasible, was rather treasonous.
  • The splitting of large families wasn't an unusual occurrence. However, this typically happened under certain conditions, like when the previous patriarch passed away and the newly appointed patriarch lacked the prestige and ability to command respect. It was under such circumstances that they would resort to the less desirable option of splitting the family.
  • Finnegan and Josephine had actually been in cahoots for quite some time, eagerly anticipating the day they could divide the family assets. They knew full well that if they didn't get involved, all the properties under the Weiss family's name would only be passed down to Bianca.
  • When the time came, they could only follow along and accept whatever was given to them, their share depending on the whims of others. It was better to seize the opportunity to participate and ensure these assets would end up in their own pockets.
  • However, at that moment, Wallace was wearing a broad smile on his face and clapping his hands in delight.
  • “Not bad, Josie's suggestion is not bad! Nothing forcibly done is agreeable. Since each of you has your own perspectives, it might be best to part ways. That way, everyone can live more comfortably. I've aged, and I no longer want to worry about these matters. Rather than waiting for my death and then fighting until you're battered and bloody, it's better to part ways now and settle everything once and for all.”
  • Wallace's open-minded attitude was quite unexpected to everyone. Anxious, Trevor wanted to mediate but Wallace stopped him.
  • “Let's do it this way. I'll give you three days to discuss and decide on a distribution plan amongst yourselves. Three days later, we'll reconvene our meeting and settle this matter! Right, since we're parting ways, count Aaron in for his share as well. Whether he'll be able to put food on his table in the future, that's up to him!”
  • Wallace stood up, ready to depart, but suddenly halted his steps and addressed Skylar, saying, “Sky, even though you and your father-in-law are considered as one entity, you are the majority shareholder. This gives you priority in choosing assets. All right, Grandpa Wallace. I've got it!”
  • Everyone rose and left the conference room. Just as Skylar reached the doorway, Trevor, who was ahead of him, abruptly turned around.
  • “Bianca, invite Sky over for dinner tonight. We can discuss today's matter while we're at it.”
  • “All right, Mr. Trevor!”
  • Once everyone had left, Skylar and Bianca walked shoulder to shoulder toward their own residence.
  • “Skylar, I must have given you quite a show. None of my two uncles and my aunt are easy to deal with.”
  • “Haha, it's nothing. Powerful families and big corporations all behave this way. It's just human nature!”
  • Ultimately, it all comes down to self-interest. Some prominent families appear harmonious on the surface, but in reality, it is because of the ruthlessness and decisiveness of the leader. Compelled by this authority, those beneath have no choice but to submit. Grandpa Wallace isn't oppressive and authoritative, so it is quite normal for such a situation to occur.”
  • “What do you think are the industries we should take?”
  • “I have some thoughts, but I need to delve deeper into the documents...”
  • “All right, I'll get it for you right now!”
  • The two of them were strolling and chatting when they had just turned past a garden. At that moment, five individuals appeared before them.
  • Leading the group was a young man, whose lips were pale and eyes had dark circles underneath. His steps were unsteady. Despite being decked out in designer brands, his demeanor suggested he was not a respectable individual.
  • Behind him, there were four individuals who resembled bodyguards. These bodyguards were burly, their eyes ever watchful, their bodies always in a state of readiness.
  • Immediately, Skylar recognized that these four individuals were elites!
  • The young man leading the group was Logan, the only son of Aaron.
  • Aaron was no saint, and naturally, his son was a rich and spoiled brat.
  • Just a while ago, he had gone to his father to ask for money, intending to buy another luxury car. Recently, he had been passionately involved with a budding star. However, he found out that his father had been taken advantage of, and his father's shares had been stripped away.
  • How could Logan bear such a thing? So, this lawless and rude guy brought along his four bodyguards to take down Skylar just to avenge his father!
  • His four bodyguards were no ordinary men. They were all former mercenaries, and almost every one of them had taken lives!
  • These four individuals weren't bodyguards assigned to him by the Weiss family. Instead, they were personally employed by him.
  • As it happened, the two parties unexpectedly crossed paths. As the saying goes, when enemies came face to face, their eyes were filled with hatred. Pointing a finger toward Skylar, Logan issued his command.
  • “Go, take him down for me and break his legs!”
  • “Yes, boss!”
  • Four bodyguards swiftly moved forward, taking up positions in all four directions and effectively surrounding Skylar and Bianca.
  • Seeing this, Bianca was livid. “Logan, have you lost your mind? Do you even realize what you're doing?”
  • “Of course, I know. I'm merely eliminating a threat for the Weiss family! Ever since this person arrived at the Weiss residence, there's never been a moment of peace! Now, I'm going to uphold justice and expel unqualified members of the family!”
