• “Jason, how dare you slap our daughter like that?” Evelyn rushed forward, standing in front of Jane, shielding her from her father's fury.
• “Get out of the way.” Jason, whose veins were still bulging at Jane's earlier revelation, warned his wife.
• “No I won't. Had you listened to me two years ago and discussed her marriage with her understandably, would all this happen?” Evelyn's words tumbled out of her mouth not minding her husband's fury.
