Chapter 4
- Soraya’s eyes lock onto Mark’s, the tension between them crackling like electricity. Around them, other pack members begin to notice, forming a loose circle, their whispers filling the air.
- Soraya said calmly, but with an edge, “If you think you can prove something by fighting me, Mark, then go ahead. But know this – I won’t hold back.”
- Mark was laughing, “Good. I wouldn’t want you to.”
- He drops into a fighting stance, his muscles tensing in anticipation. Soraya mirrors him, her eyes never leaving his. For a moment, the world narrows to just the two of them, every sound and movement amplified.
- With a sudden burst of speed, Mark lunges at Soraya, aiming a powerful punch at her midsection. She sidesteps gracefully, her reflexes honed from countless hours of training. She counters with a swift kick to his side, but Mark blocks it, spinning to strike again.
- The fight is a whirlwind of motion – punches, kicks, and grapples exchanged with ferocious intensity. The pack members watch in awe, the air thick with anticipation. Ara stands at the edge, her face a mask of mixed emotions.
- Mark manages to land a heavy blow to Soraya’s shoulder, causing her to stumble back. But she recovers quickly, using the momentum to launch herself at him with renewed vigor. She ducks under his next swing, delivering a sharp elbow to his ribs, followed by a quick sweep of his legs.
- Mark hits the ground with a grunt, but he’s up in an instant, his eyes burning with determination. They circle each other again, both breathing heavily but showing no signs of backing down.
- “You’re better than I remember. But it won’t be enough,” Mark gritted his teeth
- “We’ll see about that.” Soraya clenched her fist.
- He charges again, but this time Soraya is ready. She meets his assault head-on, their movements a blur. She feints left, drawing him in, then delivers a powerful punch to his jaw, followed by a knee to his stomach. Mark staggers back, dazed.
- Soraya seizes the opportunity, pressing her advantage with a flurry of blows that leaves Mark struggling to defend himself. Finally, with a decisive spin, she lands a kick to his chest, sending him crashing to the ground. She stands over him, her breathing heavy, eyes blazing with victory.
- “This is the strength of a leader, Mark. Remember that.” Soraya said firmly
- Mark lies on the ground, panting and defeated, the realization of his loss sinking in. The pack members around them murmur, some in disbelief, others in admiration. Ara’s face is pale, her eyes wide with shock.
- Soraya extends a hand to Mark, offering him a chance to rise with dignity. After a moment, he takes it, pulling himself to his feet. They stand face to face.
- “You’ve made your point, Soraya. But this isn’t over,” Mark said grudgingly. Then He and Ara left the training ground swiftly.
- Soraya is catching her breath after the intense fight with Mark. Her muscles ache, but her spirit remains unbroken. Suddenly, ELISE, the omega servant, approaches her with a sense of urgency.
- “Lady Soraya, someone is waiting for you at your home,” Elise said breathlessly.
- Soraya nods, wiping the sweat from her brow. She grabs her things and gestures for Elise to lead the way.
- “Let’s go.” Soraya said
- They move swiftly through the forest path. As they approach the outskirts of the training ground, they encounter DEMI, the pack healer, carrying a bundle of herbs.
- Demi smiles warmly, “Soraya. I brought you some herbs. They’ll help with your sore muscles and keep you strong.”
- “Thank you, Demi. I’ll take them. But come with us. Someone is waiting for me at home, and it might be important.”
- Demi nods, sensing the urgency in her voice. He falls in step with Soraya and Elise as they make their way to Soraya’s home.
- They arrive at Soraya’s home, a quaint and sturdy structure nestled among the trees. Soraya opens the door and steps inside, followed closely by Demi and Elise.
- In the living room, a beautiful woman with blue eyes and blond hair sits patiently. She stands as they enter, her gaze fixed on Soraya. Soraya’s eyes widen with curiosity and confusion, while Demi’s expression shifts to one of shock and recognition.
- Soraya was confused, “Who are you?”
- “I’m Terra.” She said softly
- Soraya’s eyes flick to Demi, who is visibly stunned. He steps forward, his voice barely a whisper.
- “Terra... I can’t believe it’s you!” He said with widened eyes and a frozen gaze. Soraya looks between Terra and Demi, trying to process the unexpected reunion.
- "Hello, Demi; it's been a long time, but nice to see you again," she said softly. Demi blushed at just looking at the woman. Soraya was surprised because she had never seen Demi towards other women in the pack like that. He is the same age as her father, but he never married, and Soraya even thought he was gay. But to this woman, he was hypnotized, and there was a sparkle in his eyes.
- Soraya said while scrutinizing her from head to toe. She had never seen her before.
- “Please, sit. Let’s talk,” Soraya said curiously.
- They all take seats in the living room, the atmosphere thick with unspoken questions and emotions.
- "I'm your Aunt," She said casually once seated.
- "What do you mean, my Aunt?" Soraya was surprised
- "I'm your mother's sister," Terra replied. She was studying her.
- "Why would my mother hide this fact from me?" Soraya's brows furrowed, and she looked helplessly at Demi.
- "Because she was ashamed of me," she said with sadness. Soraya couldn't believe that this woman was her mother's sister. There was no likeness between them. Her mother had dark eyes and wavy raven hair like, but this woman had blond hair and blue eyes.
- “Yes, Soraya. I'm your Aunt Terra. I've come to pay my respects. I heard about Eva... your mother. I'm so sorry.” Soraya studies Terra, trying to reconcile the woman before her.
- “I’ve never met you before. Why now?” Soraya said her brows furrowed. Terra takes a deep breath, her gaze drifting to the floor before meeting Soraya’s eyes again. “Why are you here, Aunt Terra?”
