  • For a very talky man, he’d been quiet since they had picked up the vehicle. She hadn’t been any better. Most conversation was in her head.
  • Aside from fifteen minutes when he was scowling at his laptop, they hadn’t stopped in almost twenty-four hours. She glanced over at him. He’d told her to try to nap, but that wasn’t going to happen. She couldn’t even contemplate closing her eyes when she was in a vehicle with a stranger. She looked at the dash. This vehicle was caviar compared to her car. She bit her lip, wondering if her car would still be there when and if she got back there. If she were honest with herself, she wasn’t going to miss it.
  • “We should stop and rest.” He said in a quiet voice.
