• Mia's POV
• I stared at Jessica's threatening text, with my hands trembling slightly as the words echoed in my head: "I know you won't last long after this accident, so I'll make sure I collect everything from you before your miserable death!"
• My heart pounded. I was even shocked Derulo couldn't hear it. I quickly locked my phone screen and shoved it back into my bag. I couldn't let Derulo see this. At least, not now. Not after he had just called me his mate like it meant something, when he had spent years denying what we both knew to be true.
