Chapter 19 Heat

• The moment I woke up, I felt every part of my body being consumed by fire and pain. I moaned in pain and curled up further to relieve myself from the immense pain. Why did I feel like this? The pain shouldn’t have been so bad. I never felt like this before. The sun was not high enough up in the sky for Clarissa or Venessa to come to my room. I wished they would. I could call for them through the bell they had provided but it was proving to be a Herculean task to even move my finger.
• I screwed my eyes shut and breathed through my mouth, the contraction of my core muscles made me choke. I don’t know for how long I had been like that but maybe I had drifted off because when I peeled my eyes open, Clarissa was hovering nervously on my bedside.
