Chapter 18 Berated

  • My pride at being able to find a solution and be a responsible luna, if not for real, but in pretence and being able to gain everyone’s praise was short-lived. Marcus and James were conversing as we got out of the car. They sounded nervous and spoke so softly that it was difficult for me to decipher. I decided to ignore it. I lingered at the doorway, suddenly unsure if I should enter. I felt the tiredness in my bones ten-fold and my stomach turned in knots. I felt an uncomfortable pain in my stomach, one which shouldn’t have been ignored, but I did and blamed it on my poor management of health. My fingers still grasped the handle lightly as I blinked a few times at him.
