Chapter 4 Is Mr. Finnegan here?

  • "And you, why didn't you stop him from doing something like that?" Linda berated Angelina.
  • Angelina pursed her lips but ultimately chose to keep her mouth shut. Besides, by the time she was there, Aiden was already saving him. So. how could she stop him?
  • Thus, she didn't respond.
  • "Hey, why aren't we leaving?! Are you waiting for them to come looking for us?!" Linda shrieked angrily. "Just because you succeeded today, it isn't enough to hide the years of failure. Do you really think of yourself as a miracle doctor?"
  • Angelina started the car and looked back at Aiden. She found him looking out the window calmly as if he didn't hear her mother's harsh words at all.
  • Something was up!
  • Angelina frowned and looked at him. He seemed like a completely different person since noon. Aiden would've kept apologizing to her mother in the past, and he had never been so indifferent.
  • Although Angelina was a little bewildered by his behavior, she continued to drive back home in stony silence.
  • The three were on the way home when the doctor from Prime Hospital, the best hospital in Keyland, stared at the man on the bed in confusion. His eyes were full of disbelief. Finally, he muttered to himself, "How is this possible?"
  • He had been practicing medicine for over 20 years and had never seen such a miraculous technique. It completely baffled him. The wound wasn't stitched, but it was not bleeding. They had moved even his fractured ribs away from his heart.
  • "Mrs. Webb, did the man really not use anything?" The doctor looked at the woman and asked.
  • "Dr. Lance, you've asked me so many times already. How is my husband?" The woman frowned as she glared at the young man in a white coat.
  • "Oh, my apologies. It's just that man's way of saving people is really amazing. I can't believe it!" Dr. Lance smiled wryly; a hint of apology lingered in his eyes.
  • "Lucas, find that young man and give him my business card. Then, when the young master recovers, I'll treat him to a feast!" An old man in the ward said seriously.
  • The Webb Family was one of the most prominent families in Keyland, and Warren was an important figure in Keyland. They only had one son, and the old man was about to step down for his son to take his place. One could only imagine his gratitude to the young man who saved his son.
  • Moreover, someone with such unique skills was worthy of the Webb Family's friendship. So, no matter how Warren looked at it, they should sincerely thank Aiden.
  • As soon as Aiden entered the house, Linda's phone rang. After she answered and exchanged a few words, she hung up the phone then excitedly told Angelina, "Angelina, your aunt will come by later!"
  • "Okay," Angelina replied absent-mindedly.
  • "Ryan will also be coming!" Linda said happily.
  • Aiden frowned when he heard her. She was trying so hard to make Angelina divorce him so she could find a new son-in-law.
  • And there was someone else who was equally enthusiastic: Angelina's aunt.
  • The 'Ryan Neels' Linda was talking about was someone introduced by Angelina's aunt.
  • "If you want me to be honest, you should take the initiative and divorce Angelina. That way, she wouldn't be wasting her life her way tied to you. Don't you want to see her with someone worthy of her?!" Linda turned to glare at Aiden coldly.
  • Before he could respond, Angelina interjected, "Mom, hurry up and tell my aunt to take him away! I will not meet this Ryan you're talking about!"
  • "Won't meet him? They came here for you!" Linda hastily tacked on upon hearing her words.
  • "Mom, do you really think it's appropriate to arrange a blind date for Angelina when her husband is right here?" Aiden said as he glanced at Linda.
  • Aiden's outburst caught Linda off guard, but she quickly retorted, "How dare you talk back to me?"
  • Just as she was about to slap Aiden, she noticed his gaze and instinctively stopped.
  • Aiden was currently staring at Linda coldly as if he was daring her to.
  • When Angelina saw this, she said calmly, "If you really don't want your wife to go on a blind date, don't sit around doing nothing all day long!"
  • After she said her piece, she went upstairs without a backward glance.
  • The corners of Aiden's mouth twitched into a small smile. Was she deliberately provoking him?
  • There was a knock on the door, and Linda rushed to open the door. A woman with heavy makeup and a handsome young man walked in. The man also came bearing several gifts.
  • "Auntie Linda, here's a small gift for you!" The young man said with a bright smile.
  • "I said there was no need for this, but Ryan insisted that he couldn't come empty-handed! This child is really sensible!" Angelina's aunt said with a smile.
  • When Linda saw these gifts, she smiled happily and said, "Ryan! There's no need for such things!"
  • "It's my pleasure. Please accept them!" The young man said politely.
  • After they sat down, the man looked around but couldn't see Angelina.
  • Linda immediately understood the young man's actions and hurriedly said, "Angelina heard you were coming, and she went up to change!" Then, she turned to Aiden and said, "Why don't you hurry up and make a cup of tea for Ryan?"
  • Aiden didn't budge an inch. Was she asking him to make tea for the man who was supposed to go on a blind date with his wife?
  • God, the audacity of this woman!
  • "Is this Angelina's good-for-nothing husband?" The young man looked at Aiden with a smile that was filled with superiority and disdain.
  • Before Linda could respond, Aiden sneered, "You're truly a shameless man, especially since you're looking for someone's wife right before her husband!"
  • "What's wrong with you today? What's with that mouth of yours?! Just go back to your room!" Linda reprimanded Aiden when she noticed him provoking Ryan.
  • "It's okay, Auntie Linda. I won't argue with someone like him! Just get Angelina to come down!" Ryan said with a reserved smile, looking at Aiden triumphantly.
  • Immediately after that, Angelina's voice came from the second floor. "Mr. Neel, please leave. I won't be divorcing my husband! This is nothing but my mother's wishful thinking!"
  • Ryan immediately raised his head in the direction of her voice. He laid his eyes on Angelina, who had a beautiful figure and unmatched beauty, on the stairs. Lust flashed in his eyes, and a smile appeared on his face as he cajoled, "Angelina, why bother being with this man? Why waste your time on this good-for-nothing husband? Someone like you deserves someone better!"
  • Aiden, who was on the side, snorted coldly. "What right do you have to say that?"
  • "Me? In terms of status, I'm the manager of the Webb Corporation. In terms of appearance, I'm ten times better looking than you! What's not better than garbage like you? I can crush you to death with just one finger!" Ryan started boasting, displeased by the interruption of what he viewed as a private conversation between Angelica and him.
  • Aiden was unhappy with what he heard and interrupted coldly, "You look ten times better than me? The foundation on your face is like cake, and I can't even count the number of facelifts you got with both my hands. For a man like you to be wearing makeup… Just where do you get the nerve to say that with such confidence?" Aiden said nonchalantly.
  • "Pfft!" Aiden's words amused Angelina. Still, she couldn't help but wonder what was up with him today.
  • "You…" Ryan was so infuriated by Aiden's words he couldn't even come up with a proper retort. Eventually, he blurted, "I'd rather throw myself off a cliff than be a worthless househusband like you!"
  • "That's right; look at yourself. Ryan is already a department manager at the Webb Corporation at twenty-five. What about you? You're still playing with firewood, rice, oil, and salt every day!" Angelina's aunt quickly came to Ryan's defense.
  • Just when things were about to get even more heated, there was another knock on the door.
  • Everyone turned in surprise. Who could it be this time?
  • Linda opened the door, and outside was a young man in a bespoke suit and leather shoes. Before she could say anything, the young man asked with a smile, "Excuse me, is Mr. Finnegan here?''
