Chapter 18 The Veiled Truth

• Lily got down from the cab and walked into the Beaumont Estate. It was a bright day, and the sun shone gracefully on the flowers and green grasses. There was an array of different mansions in the estate, and she walked briefly to the main mansion where the family stayed. Her heart was beating frantically as she walked inside.
• When she got up the stairs and into Alex's study, he was already there, using his index finger to massage his temples. Lily sighed. Her initial fear diminished as it was replaced with concern.
• "Mr. Beaumont, you can't work if you're so hungover," she said, and he looked up, a bit startled at her sudden arrival.
