Chapter 13 Risking His Life to Save Her

  • She wanted to escape, but she was now surrounded by two stones; there was no way for her to hide!
  • The boar opened his bloody mouth and showed its fangs; it was about to bite her face.
  • She yelled miserably, and she subconsciously closed her eyes. She thought this was the end for her. Shortly after, there was another scream, but it wasn't from her. She opened her eyes and saw Craig fighting the boar with his bare hands!
  • For a few times, she saw that he was almost bitten by the boar, yet he managed to do it. And he punched the boar's weak points many times. Shortly after, he managed to restrain the board. He was agile as he took out a handgun and instantly pulled the trigger. The boar was killed.
  • At that moment, he held the handgun and stepped on top of the boar's corpse, ready to take down those aggressive boars that were still in hiding. Seeing that their leader had died, all of them ran away.
  • They were not in danger anymore, so Craig put the handgun in his pocket. He turned and walked toward Gloria. Under the moonlight, he looked like a god coming from heaven to save her. When he came closer, Gloria could see that there was a blood stain on his handsome face. And his expensive suit was torn apart. He was in a mess, but he still looked mesmerizing.
  • Her heart skipped a beat as she looked at him. She hurriedly reminded herself to be sane. He has a lover. I can never fall for a devilish man like him.
  • Craig did not know what she was thinking; he trotted up to her grumpily. He wanted to reprimand her for stupidly running into the forest. Yet he could not speak when he saw the injury on her thigh. He said coldly, "What are you waiting for? Do you really want to be the boar's food?"
  • She totally lost interest after hearing his words. Hmph! He's indeed a devil! She tried to stand up with her core strength, and she slowly got out from between the stones. "Ouch!" Her thigh hurt when she tried to stand.
  • Seeing her stubbornness, Craig snorted, "You can even take care of yourself, and you attempted to leave home?"
  • She wanted to fight back, but he put his hand right in front of her. She looked at him with shock. He said coldly, "Hurry up! My time is yours!" She stopped being stubborn and put her hand into his, and he pulled her up. She gaped, as if in pain.
  • He let go of her hand and commented, "This is what you get for acting impulsively." He already knew what happened today; she could have put up with it for a while and waited for him to get home, but she just simply left.
  • She was about to thank him, and she was left speechless again. He just can't say something good, can he?"
  • Indeed, she had the urge to escape today, but her father was still in the hospital, and she could not bring him away without Maria's permission. She could not possibly leave. Yet she had to pretend to go away, as Rose would not stop going against her. She might even physically harm her, so she thought going into the forest was a better idea. She did not know there were wild animals here!
  • She wanted to talk back, but looking at his bleeding hand and thinking of him saving her, she did not have the audacity to fight back. She knew he was kind enough to save her already. So she should hold herself back.
  • She coughed and said, "Thanks for saving me tonight; we're even now. But I have to make myself clear: I'm framed; I didn't destroy grandma's statues!" She did not like to owe anyone, especially not him!
  • Suddenly, she felt an icy sensation underneath her feet. She looked down and saw a gigantic snake right beside her leg.
  • "Ah! Snake!" She feared this creature the most, so she instantly jumped into his arms and held tight to his neck. Craig was almost suffocated by her; he supported her hips so that he could breathe. He was still agile even though she was hanging on him. He took a few steps back, kicked it, and grabbed it by the neck.
  • She was so scared that she blurted nonsense: "Mr. Snake, don't bite me! If you want to bite someone, bite Craig! He has noble dragon blood!"
  • He was speckled hearing her words. She's so unappreciative!
  • The devil within him was triggered by her; he brought the snake near her face and said, "Aren't you invincible? How did you manage to kill my dogs back then?"
  • Her face turned pale, and she snuggled into his neck, and she scolded him, "Craig Ramirez, are you crazy?"
  • "Ha, am I crazy?" "I shall lock you and this snake in the same room for a night!"
  • "I lost! Mr. Ramirez! Mr. Craig! Get it away from me. I'm afraid, waaa..."
  • He started to list down what she did back then. "Who was the one saying that I'm not as capable?"
  • She sobbed and answered, "It's my fault; I must be blind! You're so masculine and the most capable human alive!"
  • "Are we even now?" "I don't understand your words just now."
  • She gritted her teeth and gave in, as she was terrified. "I'm being unrealistic; I still owe you. Are you happy?"
  • He was satisfied, so he threw the snake afar. "The snake is gone; can you detach from me now?" He was literally breathing into her ear when he talked.
  • She was taken aback, and when she realized they were in a really flirty position now, she instantly let go of her hands and accidently stretched her wound again. Her face changed due to the unbearable pain.
  • Craig's men were finally here, and one of them said, "Mrs. Ramirez is injured; I'll piggyback on her."
  • His subordinate was about to carry her, but Craig suddenly shouted, "Stop it!" Both Gloria and his subordinate were shocked. They thought the boars were back. Yet everything seemed to be fine. The subordinate asked, "Mr. Ramirez, what's wrong?"
  • "You don't have to carry her." He answered.
  • "But Mrs. Ramirez's leg is injured. It's dangerous for her to walk; she might slip down the hill."
  • Gloria thought that Craig was trying to mess with her, and she was about to refuse help.
  • But, instead, Craig squatted down and said, "Climb onto my back now!"
  • Both of them were shocked until their jaws dropped.
  • She was hesitating, so he threatened her by saying, "Hurry up, or else I'll throw you into the snake cave!"
  • So she obeyed him. She felt safe laying on his back; he was walking firmly. And this was her first time seeing another side of him, which was not so bad.
  • "Craig." She called his name under the moonlight.
  • "Yes?" He answered shortly.
  • "Do you believe me? I really didn't destroy Grandma's statues. I'm angry with you, but I won't hurt her."
  • Well, I wouldn't come to save you if I didn't believe you.
