Chapter 12 Entering the Dangerous Zone

  • Before Maria finished speaking, her eyes rolled, and she fainted. Suddenly, the entire Ramirez family was panicking. The family doctors were going in and out, the maids were trying their best to look after her, and they were all anxious. A few hours later, Allen walked out of her room.
  • Gloria had been waiting outside for hours. She went up to him and asked, "Mr. Brown, how is grandma?"
  • Suddenly, Rose slapped her hard, as if she were really furious and wanted to kill her. "You’re bringing bad luck upon our family! You don’t deserve to address my mom as your grandma! As the daughter-in-law of the Ramirez family, I hereby tell you that we don’t accept you here! You should f*ck off now!"
  • Gloria slapped her back, and she said, "I don’t care about being a part of your family, but that doesn't mean that you can frame me! I didn’t ruin the statues! Whoever did it would definitely get the karma of disrespecting God!"
  • Rose did not expect her to fight back, and she was scared of her curse! Rose was worried that her trick would be exposed, so she did not have the mood to bully her now; she just wanted her to be gone. "Someone, anyone! Chase her out now!" She shouted.
  • Gloria snorted, "I can go myself! I didn’t want to stay here either, but I sincerely thank you for this opportunity. You should prepare yourself to deal with Craig once he’s back." She said such words not because she thought Craig would miss her, but because she knew that there must be reasons behind him making her stay. She knew that he would not change his mind; without his permission, no one could chase her away. And it was obvious that Rose was not in charge of the family.
  • Rose was stunned, and she said viciously, "Ha, ha! Someone as ugly as you can never get Craig’s love! He will definitely celebrate your departure when he’s back home!"
  • Gloria smiled and said, "Okay, you better hope that you’re correct." She turned around and left without looking back.
  • In the evening, a Maybach was back at the Ramirez manor. Craig was overseas dealing with the crisis at his company branch. And he rushed home after he had landed. He dashed to Maria's room to look at her; she had a stroke.
  • Allen told him that Maria was stabilized at the moment and would be awake soon. Craig was relieved to hear it. There were many people gathering by her bedside, yet Craig looked around and realized someone was missing. "Where's Gloria?"
  • She's always with Grandma; where is she when something happens to Grandma?
  • Everyone looked at Rose silently; no one dared tell him the truth.
  • "Stop talking about her! She is the one who caused your grandma to be like this! She's worried about facing you, so she ran away already!"
  • Knowing she had left, his face crumpled. "Who gave her permission to leave?" He asked grumpily.
  • Everyone tensed up, especially Rose. She recalled what Gloria said before she left.
  • How am I going to explain it to him?
  • Rose exaggerated what happened today, but she omitted the fact that she chased her away because she knew that she did not have the right to do so.
  • Looking at Craig, she thought that he bought her lie, so she tried to convince him, "Craig, she's ugly and unworthy to be your wife; if you want someone pretty, I'll introduce you to..."
  • "I'll only ask one more time: who's the one allowing Gloria to leave?" His voice was calm, but they knew he was not calm.
  • Rose answered, "Sh... She left by herself! She said she wanted to leave a long time ago, and she even slapped me before she left. Look!" She pointed at her face pitifully.
  • At the moment, Craig understood something. "Are you the one who chased her away?" He asked coldly, and Rose did not dare to look at him. "It seems like you see yourself as the head of the family! If Gloria is not back, you can never get any benefits from our family."
  • Rose was so worried that she was lost for words. Everyone in the Ramirez family knew that without the help of the Ramirez family, her father's company would have been bankrupt by now!
  • Craig left, and he said to Eddy, who was standing by the door, "Gloria's gone; find out where she is now!" He did not care if she was behind the destruction of the statues or not; he wanted to talk to her face-to-face. And, without his permission, she should not leave!
  • Shortly, Eddy had done his investigation and hurriedly reported, "Mr. Ramirez, the satellite in the manor shows that Gloria is still in our compound; she left in the afternoon and walked into the forest, and she was not seen by then."
  • Craig got worried hearing it; the Ramirez manor was located in a mountain, and they were the only residence here. The environment here was nice, and there were a lot of animals living near them. None of them would walk into the forest when it was dark.
  • Somehow, he recalled how pitiful she was crying by the bathtub. "Everyone moves to find her now!" He ordered.
  • It was near winter, and the air was even colder at night inside the forest. Craig's men looked around the forest, yet Gloria was nowhere to be found.
  • In the middle of the night, one of his men rushed and reported, "Mr. Ramirez, I found a lot of wild animal feces in the forest with human blood beside them... Mrs. Ramirez might be attacked.
  • He stood up and yelled, "You’re all useless!" "I'll go by myself."
  • "Gloria! Gloria!" Her name was echoed all over the forest.
  • She was hiding in a wet and shallow cave now, and she was trembling in fear.
  • Her thigh was scratched by wood, and it bled a lot. Unfortunately, she ran into wild boars, and they almost ate her. But she reacted quickly and jumped into the cave.
  • She did not dare respond to people searching for her because the boars were closer to her.
  • Suddenly, she heard a lot of noise getting close to her; she was getting tense and scared. She wanted to know what was approaching her. She kicked away the dried leaves that were covering her, and she looked up and saw a huge black boar looking fiercely at her.
