Chapter 11 Being Tricked

  • Craig just changed and walked down the stairs. He was about to get out. He had to go back to the company earlier than expected to resolve some issues. He was expressionlessly hearing Amy’s report when he answered, "What are you waiting for? Move the expensive furniture in the warehouse to her room for her to trash." Ha, ha, does she think this can work? She’s really just an eighteen-year-old kid; she’s childish!
  • Amy was so shocked that she asked, "Mr. Ramirez, are you being serious?"
  • He looked at her as if he were saying "Do you think that I’m joking?", and he left.
  • Amy was dumbfounded, yet she ordered the maids to carry out his order; he was the boss after all. And Gloria felt so good after venting it all out in the room that she could not remember the last time that she let go of her negativity. She had been living carefully in the Chavez family for her father’s sake, and she always suppressed her feelings. Now that she had fought with Craig, she might as well let it all out since she was still being controlled!
  • When Amy and the maids got into the room, Gloria was acting as if her death was near; she said it bravely, "Come, what’s his punishment for me? How would he like to kill me?" She was only feeling sorry for her baby. Sorry, my child, I’ll give birth to you in the next life and love you right!
  • Amy answered slowly, "Mrs. Ramirez, you’ve gotten it wrong. Mr. Ramirez said that you can trash however you want; he’ll keep replacing the damaged items." And she asked the maids to clean up and move the new furniture in; this batch looked even more expensive.
  • His action had made her regain her senses. He was so rich that her trashing the furniture meant nothing to him, and she was wasting her energy doing so. She was furious thinking about it! She cooled down, and she was still thinking about how to escape from this devilish man after two days. Her phone vibrated after she woke up this morning; she received a text from Maria telling her that she was back, and she invited her to have a private talk in the altar. Gloria wanted to speak with her too; she wanted to make it clear that she wanted to get a divorce with Craig!
  • She came to the altar in the manor, and strangely, there was no one there. "G. Grandma, are you here?" Suddenly she felt that someone was behind her; she was alerted, but before she could react, she was beaten. And she lost consciousness and fell to the ground.
  • She did not know how much time had passed, but when she woke up, she looked around with alertness. And she realized that she was still at the altar; she was neither kidnapped nor injured. Yet, this was a very strange incident, and she felt that something was wrong.
  • She heard footsteps, and she was about to identify who was coming. Maria was just back from the church, and she brought a new statue home this time. She carefully located the statue on the altar with the maids before this. When she looked at the messed-up altar, she was about to faint.
  • She had been sincerely praying to these statues, and she believed that God was blessing the Ramirez family all these years. Yet, the statues were ruined now, and she was worried that her family would be doomed!
  • "Tell me, what happened to my statutes? Who did it?" Maria was shouting helplessly.
  • Gloria was stunned, and she shivered upon hearing her words. So, someone tricked me here just to frame it for me?
  • "Huh, why is Gloria here?" Rose’s voice brought attention to her. And now she has become the biggest suspect in this incident. "Oh, I know why! She was fighting and trashing the expensive furniture and decorations two days ago after fighting with Craig. Craig didn’t come home these days, so maybe she vented it on your statues!" Rose was exaggerating the situation.
  • Maria’s face crumpled, and she asked, "Ms. White, did something like this happen?" Maria trusted her the most.
  • Amy answered, "Madame Ramirez, it was through you that Mrs. Ramirez fought with Mr. Ramirez, and she broke something, but..."
  • "She must be the one behind this! Who dares do it beside her? Mom, you treated her well, yet look at what she’s done! Everyone knows that these statues are important to you! She’s such a devil!"
  • Gloria smirked and said, "Auntie, please show me the proof. Since when did you see that I smashed the statues? Maybe this is your trick after all, so that you’re framing it for me now."
  • Rose was angered, and she snorted, "You’re talking nonsense! Why are you here if you’re not the one doing it?""
  • Gloria fumbled out her phone and said honestly, "Grandma, someone set this up against me. I received a text from you saying that you want to talk to me at the altar. Hence, here I am. But I was beaten from behind and fainted just now. When I regained consciousness, coincidentally, you came in with them. Please think of it; who has been suspicious here?"
  • "Ha, ha, you’re such a liar. Mom was just back from the church; why would she invite you to the altar now?"
  • "Enough!" Maria snorted, and Rose immediately shut up. She then looked at Amy and said, "Check her phone." She did not fully believe Gloria or Rose, yet she did not think Gloria was capable of it, and she did not think Rose was vicious like this.
  • Amy quickly searched through her phone, and she said after a while, "Mrs. Ramirez, there’s no such message in your phone at all."
  • Gloria’s face turned pale; she did not expect the culprit to be so detailed. The situation was bad for her, but she tried to defend herself. "The one that hit me just now must have deleted it! Grandma, you can ask someone to retrieve the message, and the truth will be found!"
  • Rose mockingly said, "Mom, look at her; she’s so good at finding excuses!"
  • Maria thought that the truth was out, and she looked at Gloria disappointedly and said, "Gloria, ever since you've been married into our family, I’ve been good to you. You should find me to talk about your worries; why did you do this?"
