Chapter 23 A Reason Not Known

• "Your father was a good man. He was a good friend to my husband. He stayed with us after his friend’s death. He was a friend indeed. I was so angry I couldn’t make it to his burial" Kate smiled. "I wasn't able to make it to his burial either. I cried so hard when I heard about his death, but unfortunately, it was a few months after he was already buried. I still can’t forgive myself for that"
• My mom held her hand. "You should not blame yourself. I am sure he understands better and he loves you"
• I stared at the two of them, wondering why my mom had not asked her why she came back to the Ice pack. She left with her mother, a few months after my father’s death, leaving her father, my father’s Beta, and Arden. That is over six years now. She never showed up at her father’s retirement party which was done three years ago. I did not see her at her father’s burial, which had happened two years ago too.
