Chapter 6

• Kaius
• I turned in bed and was stunned when I felt another body beside me. I could smell a different presence.
• It was feminine and peaches. My eyes flew open as I stared at my side and I found the most beautiful and pure soul curled up beside me.
• I felt my chest tighten as I stared at her pale face, she had a frown on her face and her legs were folded to her body protectively.
• I exhaled deeply, knowing she had been my victim last night. I felt impressed as I stared at her.
• How come a tiny and fragile looking soul had survived me? How come she was still breathing properly and only the bruises on her body was evidence of what I had done.
• I exhaled deeply as I got out of bed. I knew I was a monster and I had long stayed away from women, trying to fight my battle alone but occasionally my guards would throw ladies inside my room, trying to help me rather than watch me suffer throughout the night.
• I glanced at the mirror as I took my bath. I couldn’t help but recall her screams. I shut my eyes immediately, trying to block out the sound and image from my mind.
• “You’re a monster… You’re worse than your father.” I remembered my mother’s words and I growled.
• I turned down the temperature of the water, hoping the coldness would take my mind off things and it helped temporarily.
• With a towel wrapped around my waist, I stepped out of the restroom, my eyes darted to the sleeping angel on the bed.
• Poor innocent lady, only goddess knew where they had taken her from because she was nothing like a slut.
• I felt my chest tighten as I found a few claw marks on her shoulder and dried blood.
• I dressed up immediately and when I was done, a knock came in.
• “Good morning, alpha.” Cooper, my beta muttered softly as he walked in with a food tray and I glared at him.
• “Where did you get her from?” I demanded and he paused.
• “I’m sorry, alpha… she was found outside the house by some guards. She said something about wanting to see you and being the alpha.” He replied and I frowned.
• “Find out who she is now.” I snapped, my jaws clenched and he bowed.
• “I’m sorry, Alpha. I couldn’t stand by and watch you be in pain.” He muttered and I growled, my claws protruding which made him leave hastily.
• Cooper walked in ten minutes later with a frown. “She’s Isla, the daughter of the alpha and wife of alpha Liam.” He explained and I frowned.
• I was about to say something when she stirred as she opened her eyes weakly.
• “Leave.” I ordered and he nodded.
• “Isla.” I called and she stared at me, her eyes filled with disdain as she tried to stand up from the bed.
• I tried to help her but she slapped my hand away, falling to the bed. “Get your hands off me you beast!” She yelled and I felt an uncomfortable feeling in my chest, my wolf was restless too and I stepped aside as I watched her walk out of bed with difficulty.
• She wobbled, holding onto the wall for support as she wrapped the duvet around her body.
• She began heading towards the door and I stopped her, holding her shoulder and her cold glare made me retract my hand.
• No woman had ever felt this way after having a night with me, every woman who had survived having sex with me was always demanding for more and feeling excited no matter how exhausted they were.
• “I apologize for what transpired between us…”
• “Let me go, haven’t you had your fill?” She demanded, her voice dripping with pain which prickled my heart and I bowed her head.
• “I apologize for everything that happened and I hope we can bury the hatchet, I’ll instruct my beta to sign a construction deal with the Pack…” I offered and she scoffed.
• “I’m not a slut, save your contract and money for someone else!” She snapped as she pulled the door open, shutting it in my face.
• I dashed out immediately, holding onto her firmly while she tried to pull away.
• “What do you want then? I hate to be in debt with anyone and I want to pay for my actions.” I replied and she chuckled sarcastically.
• “Now you have a conscience?” She snapped and I exhaled, she was getting on my nerves and what I wanted was to be done with her and get moving.
• “What do you want, Isla… You’re not innocent either, you came here looking for something.” I replied and she bowed her head.
• “Fine, I want marriage, can you give me that!” She retorted and I let go of her, staggering back in shock.
• She was bold but at the same thing surprising, why would a married woman want me? I know every lady wants me and they keep throwing themselves at me but for a lady who was married to an alpha, she had no shame.
• “How shameless…”
• “I’ll be divorced soon and I need all the power I can get in order to be the alpha of the pack. If you truly want to pay me back for what happened, marry me and help me get the pack. You don’t have to be obligated to me in any way, you don’t have to be present for anything, all I want is the pack.” She replied and I stared at her with astonishment for a moment.
• “No, I can give you any land or amount you demand for but marriage is out of it, you can leave.” I replied and the glint in her eyes died as disappointment set in but she clenched her jaws and turned around, walking away while I stared at her.
